Exhaust Tip

I have a 2002.5 Protege ES as it says in my sig, and I have a question about the muffler tip on my car. It's a chrome tip over the existing shitty tailpipe. Can I cut the shitty tailpipe off a bit, then get a better looking tip to put over it. The problem is that I can see the original tailpipe, and I dont want that. Any help?

I am really dumb when it comes to this stuff, and a lot of other stuff so bear with me please.

you whould be able to go to your local muffler shop and they should have tips there and install(weld) it on for about 40 bucks, they will cut the crappy pipe to meet the end of the new tip. i really considered doing it to mine but i got a good deal on ebay for mine.http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/b683b...UhfA.AHD.3i.Wj

Thanks a lot man. I might get the MP3 kit so do I have to sure its not too big to fit into a future rear skirt?

does the mp3 have the same rear skirt as the p5?

I would say yes, but I could very well be wrong.

The P5 bumper is not the same as ANY of the sedans - the P5 is shorter by a couple of inches, so bumpers are not interchangeable without modifications. I'm assuming this is what you mean by "skirt" - since the bumpers are all one-piece units.
