Dress up the engine bay

Heys guys,
Im thinking about putting some colors under my hood and I have a few questions.

1° Can you change every wires or just some of them ?
2° Can you buy a "rap around" thing or you have to absolutely change the wire.
3° What the cost of this mods $$$ ?
4° Hard to do ???

Thank...

I havent done this but I think most people use wire loom. You can get it in just about any color/size at auto zone. It has a slit on one side so all you do is slip it over your old wires. I don't think it costs that much and should be reletively easy to do. Maybe someone who has done this could give you some tips on installing it?

Hose Techniques's has a complete engine hose kit for the P5, I am pretty sure they have one for a regular Protege too, but I dont remember if you have the 2.0 in your Protege or not. The kit cost 55 bones, looks as if the hoses that come in the kit replace the ones on the engine, but I am not sure, I did not look at it that close.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend the hose techniques kit. The quality of the silicon hoses may be fine and dandy, but the amount of color you actually end up putting in there (I was NOT comfortable making some of the suggested changes) was worth say $20 at the most.

Just in case you wanted to look at the Protege with the Hose Technique kit on it here is the web site. Hose Technique Protege

Yeah after looking at that kit $55 is a rip for that little. I personally don't like the wire loom, and most of it eventually fades from the heat, and doesn't look good. If you really wanna dress up the engine bay you could spend no more than 100 bucks and have it looking really nice. Go to NOPI they have some stuff.

Only for a few wires???

IMO i think that costs too much... only a few wires... if it was for most of the piping/wires.. then it might be worth it... that my opinion...:D

I did the looms and hoses. The looms can be bought for about $40 CAD and come in various sizes. As for my hoses, I just bought a "combo pack" sorta thing with about 6 feet of each thickness, and just cut and replacd as I went along. That set me back about $50 for some good quality ones.

check out my site(cardomain)
I dressed up the engine
I like it, I will add some more
and paint it a little, not too much
but those coverings is an easy and cheap
way to add a good look on to your engine
cost me about .....max $30

Hope that helps
