http://www.rtekimports.com/mazda/index.htm Rustoleum Metallic Blue with many layers of clear coat.... It does match laser blue perfectly, though my car is silver. I figured silver/blue is a good contrast, albiet like silver/red. As far as modifications goes, there really is none. I utilized the clips off of each side of the stock radio and mounted it to this one. I then did roll up some metal strapping material and mounted it behind the radio so that it acts like a spring. The purpose is when you push the radio in, the spring pressure pushes towards the front of the radio where the clips (like stock) hold it in place. I used the stock bezel trim ring and to fill the gap on the top was a square piece of metal that I cut, sanded, painted, and clearcoated. I do think it looks good myself. Thanks for the compliments. - Brian |
I think the double Din units are a nifty solution in the Protege, and some offer pretty first rate features! Good lookin install there! :p
