Dirty Headlights...

Anyone else out there find that if their P5 headlights get even the slightest bit dirty, the light output (espesially with the high-beams on) sucks dick? I'm not sure about the sedan lights, but in this Calgary winter, the lights get covered in that runny "road-mud" after a few minutes of day driving, then at night the light output is diminished to the point that I need to wipe them down with a snowball or real wet cloth. Even if they're only slightly dirty I find the light output is still really hurt.

Just wondering if anyone else out there thinks the same thing?

Pro_fan February-15th-2003 09:12 PM

I haven't noticed any deterioration and my headlights are filthy right now.

Dude - what the HELL is the name of that movie with Shogun in it?!?!?!?!

Year of the Dragon? IS that it? What a horrible, terrible, crappy, cool-as-hell movie. Vanity was a hottie back in the day. And those El D'Barge songs.....nuff sed.

:):););):):)

Umm...to be on topic..I just drove my Pro around at night here w/ my filthy lights and really tried to see a decrease, but I didn't notice any difference. Maybe you guys are just "over-sensitive?" :P

So far it seems as though the sedan lights are ok when dirty, but the P5 ones lick nuts... Hmmmm...

TheMAN February-16th-2003 02:40 PM

that's why headlight washers are REQUIRED in europe

I make it a habit that every time I get gas, I wash at least the headlights

I hope you at least make a point to use lots of water so they don't get scratched...

Using the squegee (sp?) that they have at the gas station ought to not give you problems... if it doesn't scratch your windshield when you use it, I'm sure the headlights will be fine (unless they are super gentle glass)

hihoslva February-16th-2003 10:49 PM

Well, they ARE super sensitive glass, in a way....

Because they're PLASTIC lenses, not glass! :stickpoke:

So yes, they scratch pretty easily. Be careful.
