DIN gap...
In my 93 I put in a single DIN CD player, which leaves a gap underneath. I've got to fill that gap, and I've narrowed it down to the following options:
1. Get a plate to cover the gap. (Not sure where from) 2. Get a pocket to fill the gap. (I think theres something for Honda Civics that fits) 3. Install some gauges in the gap. (I don't really have the expertise for this) 4. Put a half-DIN equalizer in. (Nice for sound, but expensive!) 5. Cut a metal plate to the size of the gap, smack some toggle switches on it that I can use for just whatever, maybe spray paint it black or something. (Prolly the cheapest way, and the easiest for me) Any input on this? |
do #5 but put a big ol APC sticker on it instead of switches!!!
j/k, if you have the money, do the gauges, if not, i would have bought a mounting kit for 15 bucks that comes with a pocket |
Thanks for the input.... I was thinking about one of those things newer cars have that give you information like the outside temperature, fuel economy you're getting, how far you can go on how much gas you have left, etc. I know something like this would probably be pretty expensive and complicated to set up, but is it realistically possible?

the temp part is pretty easy, the rest has to be tied into the ECU, so lets say not worth the money, but a very good idea.
