blue i know you are fluent in this stuff, so while i have your attention:

where is a good place to buy fiberglass and resin/hardener? roughly how much would i need to do a good box for a 12, just so i know. i know i will need like 7 coats or something like that, but i dunno. i also have no experience with fg.

one more thing, i noticed on a post that you carried on for a while with foxy about building fiberglass boxes, that you use a "brick-building" technique for laying it, doesnt this make the process take even longer than just using mats?

i assume that for this (since i want high quality) i should buy 1 1/2 oz fiberglass, is the "chopped strand mat" what i want or is there something better? i found this for a 38" wide piece for 2.10/yd, which sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
they also have 2oz chopped strand mat which is a 50" wide piece for 3.65/yd

im thinking i would need like 5 or 6 yds to do this (per box), as i am just doing the back and one side of the box. am i totally off?

Walmart has everything you need for a fiberglass project.

Fiberglass Resin and hardener - Auto Dept
Bondo - Auto Dept
Cheap Paint Brushes - Hardware Dept
Fleece by the yard - Fabric Dept

For those of you who don't know about fleece, its a great material to build your first layer out of. Its stretches almost uniformly, its thick, and it holds alot of resin. If you buy black fleece your fiberglass will dry quicker in the sunlight. I work in the shade of my garage then move it outside to dry.
