Cargo net installation/pics
 

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has a cargo net installed in their trunk (sedan or hatch). If you do, I was wondering if you could take some pics or scan the installing instructions for me.

My buddy bought me an aftermarket one, but I can't figure out how the stock one is supposed to be like. (i've tried searching the web to no avail. I guess next I could just go to a dealer and take a look and see if it's in the service manual).
I don't see any hooks that are already in place. I also want to see where it goes so I can make a decision where to put mine if I need to start drilling holes.

The P5 factory cargo net has hooks at each corner on the floor of the cargo area, and the net hooks onto these and lays on the floor. Carge then can be slipped under it and the net holds it down. The nets are usually pretty stretchy, so this can work reasonably well.

I had a Blazer before, and the cargo net was like a pocket, with 2 mounting points on the side walls about 10-12 inches off the floor, and the net suspended from this. It was a good size and layout for grocery bags.

Did you get the cargo net installed before you picked up the car or did you put it in afterwards by yourself?

I can't find hooks in my trunk (though I have a sedan).

From your desription, it sounds like you don't put things "into" the net like it was a big bag. But you slip things under the net, where the net "holds" the items down?
How many hooks are there? 2 or 4?

The P5 has 4 hooks that a net attaches to at all 4 corners. It's just a single piece of mesh that you (as you assumed) "slip" things under. Can't help you out with the sedan one though!!

I have a P5, and they come with the hooks already installed. As you mentioned for the sedan, you may need to add your own. Not sure on that part, sorry :(

But yeah, you slip stuff under the net and it just holds them down. The Mazda net that I got for the P5 is quite stretchy and you can put a reasonable amount of stuff under it.

My net came with the car, but I had to install it myself. The 4 hooks you need are probably buried undernieth the floor panel in the trunk. Try lifting it up (to get to where the spare tire is) and you should see them.

Yep, there should be four, square metal loops that the cargo net hooks onto. The carpet that lines the trunk should already have slits in it that you poke the loops through. Since you don't have a cargo net already, your loops are probably not poked through the carpet.

Hey Maxx, this guy has a sedan, do you know if it's the same for a sedan trunk?

*I have a sedan . The clips come with the net . On the plastic panel you will find push clips ,remove these 2 at the top two at the bottom . Attach the hooks in there place . I got mine as part of the deal when i bought so the dealer installed it . A word of warning ,i dont use mine now its a pain to put stuff in ,it doesnt hold item that well . .
