Can you figure this out

Can anyone figure out the volume on this???

I need an enclosure that is .625/ft/3 or 17.7 litres????
The sub displacement is .05 ft/3

a trapezoid has the following equation to calculate area:

h/2*(a+b)

But, you need to provide the height of the box. The left side says it is 12 but what is the length of the right side? Do we assume it is also 12? If so, then the trapezoid on the side of the box is symmetrical and i would estimate the height around 11.3. (are these inches?)

(11.3/2)*(6+14) => 5.65*20 => 113 inches squared

113 * 16 = 1808 inches cubed

I dislike imperial measurements so I'll convert to litres.

1808 * 2.54^3 = 29627.812 millilitres or 29.627 litres.

.05 ft/3 is equivalent to 1.416 litres.

So, assuming that encllsure has equal sides that are both 12 inches, after installing the sub, the box has a volume of 28.211 litres. Much larger than the 17.7 you need.

Hope this helps in some way. Hopefully, my calculations are right, but I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't.

Yeah the box is 12" on both sides, inches...

The recommended size is 18"x11"x9" for each sub and Is supposed to be 17.7

thanks abunch;)

also when were talking litres is that the same unit of measurement as a "2 liter" of soda???

Yup, same idea. 2 litres of volume fits in a 2 litre soda bottle. A cubic foot is surprisingly large, 28.3 litres. When I first saw that I was surprised.

Glad I could help.

Assuming you are using 3/4' MDF ,those dimensions are the outside of the box ,you have .663 cubic fett of air space with the woofer in the box .

thats close enough for me, That saves me from building new enclosures.

Thanks..

Yep you have ruffly .65 cubic ft which is perfect according to your listed needs.
However, you have a sub listed in your sig that doesn't exist.
No such thing as a JL W03. Its either a W0 or a W3.
