blown speaker repair?

I have a pair of blaukpunt speakers and i've had them on for about a week and i think i blew my passenger side speaker!! I don't even bump my music like that. But i here a crackle whenever the bass kicks. So my question is, do these speakers normally come with a warranty or can i take this speaker somewhere to be repaired. I can't take them back to the dealer cuz i bought them at a convention...please help!

if you purchased the speakers from a authorized dealer than yes there is a warrenty, if not then no. are you running the factory HU??? try switching the speakers to the other side. sometimes if you have bad wiring, that will happen, but as far as repairing them, it would be cheaper to get a new set

go get a new set, it's not worth it. best recommendation i would have for you is go get a new pair at a major electronic's chain (best buy, circut city..etc.) and purchase a warranty with them. might sound like a rip off, but you can get the speakers replaced anytime you want, for whatever reason with in the time of the warranty. maybe the best selection isn't available at best buy, but hey, at least they'll replace them. i've had 2 or 3 speakers take flight on me because of improper installation with contacts grounding themselves to the sheet metal of the car. not saying it's specifically your fault, but get a set of speakers with a warranty just incase, cause sometimes manufacturers don't cover certain mishaps with speakers. get a set from circut city, you can stomp on them, piss on them, tear them apart, or just about anything concievable that doesn't hint deliberate destruction of the speaker and get a new set for no charge whatsoever. hell, my buddy plans to get a new set of alpine e10's every 6 to 8 months for the next four years just to keep them in peak condition for local competitions.
peace

Well i found the culprit i (exposed wire) but i just ordered a pair of Infinity 5752cf.....but i still would like to salvage the other speaker...would a regular audio store fix the speaker...??and also what can i do to cover up the exposed wire....(Will electrical tape cut it?) and most importantly how can this be avoided again?( If i blow the infinity's because of the same reason i swear to god i will rip every speaker out of my car, sell the parts on ebay and buy a sony walkman):D

Another question while i'm at it......... I have a pair of Boss 6.5" But they Rattle like crazy...is there something i need to cut to get these not to rattle or are these speakers just to big for the rear deck?

dude, most speakers have a warranty, don't just throw them away.......

If shit is rattling, look more at your car for the culprit, not the speaker....

As I found out, no car has a "Clean" sound system. Something will always rattle in the car. just how most cars are made.
