Is that a type-R protege? :o

RacerX November-3rd-2002 11:02 PM

yep it is...very wack..but yes it is a type R protege!!!!!

Vindication November-4th-2002 03:31 PM

First off, not to be mean or anything but, do anything but white out the taillights, they look ridiculouse. Secondly, whoever owns that protege should :mach: themselves for being a retard and putting a type-R badge in the back like that, :wtf: were they thinking?

Thats' great, at least I can go over speed bumps without scratching my bumper.

Sorry, back on topic. I really don't think bleaching your taillights would do anything but give it a bad smell :). And I agree with Vindication, that looks awful.

So, now that we've got the cussing out of the way, let's help this guy out with his original question.

I've never heard of bleaching the lights before. I didn't think it was possible, due to the fact that the lights are molded in the red color of plastic. Have you got more info on this technique I could read up on?

If You're really into that look, I'm sure you'd be better off with some Altezzas. That looks like it'll yellow in a heartbeat!

I don't think bleach would do good things for the seals or anything either. Remember it's a corrosive

If you've seen this car before, you would know that it has a hydraulic suspension system.
If you wanna see more pics of this car click HERE and click on "Trinidad" I've picked these up while surfing the net

ok...you said I would be better off with Altezzas. Well do you know where I can get some from??? Cause they don't make any for the 2nd gen. Also I was just trying to see how hard it is to get those lights and if this technique was a real thing or not. I'm probably just going to paint the middle part and just have the light on the sides!!!! That was what I had intended to do from the begining. My friend did it to his sunfire and it looks tight.

Make it smell like rice.:gay:

I think you'd be better off taking a couple hundred bucks and putting it through a paper shredder.

Okay, Okay!! I'll be the only one with a different opinion. I kinda like the bleach look. DON'T SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WON'T CHANGE MY MIND:D My friend was thinking of doing the same thing with his G2. He went searching around and said that some body shops do them, just gotta find the right one. I told my friend the lights from CORKSPORT.com looks better, but he doesn't think so. And don't worry about smell. They air it out, of course.

BTW, all other members Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me :p

I like being different.

Why do you want to get them? Do you really want to get pulled over every few minutes?

Now explain to me why I would be getting pulled over every few minutes???? I heard something about how you have to put some red tap or something like that on them but why????

UCSBgeek November-6th-2002 11:56 PM

Because it's the law that you need red reflectors in your tail-lights.

You also need to have orange reflectors on your front corner lights, but cops don't make a big deal out of this. At least not in my area. Usually cops use this as a second offense when they pull you over.
