any alarm recommendations?
 

I just bought a silver P5 and I need to get an alarm system in there. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want to spend around $300 or $400.

clifford, or viper, same thing and u get everything for about $400.

cant beat it unless u electrify your door handles.

hey now that i'm thinking about it, u can stick something under the door handle with a remote so u dont shock yourself... ok i got work to do... TO THE BAT CAVE ROBIN.

for a solid unit and good features, the Viper 300ESP is a great bet. If you need more bells and whistles, the 550ESP is a full alarm and remote start unit or the 800ESP is the flagship, No remote start but has 7 extra channels to play with.

FYI: All original DEI produtcs (Viper, Python, Sidewinder, Valet, Automate, Hornet.......) have the same components inside, the features will differ, but the quality is all the same....DAMN GOOD!

compustar alarms are awsome too....especialy with the spred spectum model with 1.2mile range :eek:

pretty much depends on what you want from your alarm. actually, any of the high-end models of the above listed brands are good.

Yea, ive been reading up on all the car alarm threads. I have a question. Should i buy the full alarm and components online for cheaper and then go to a local store and get it installed? or do you think i should just get it all from a store, alarm and installation.

I only ask this because around here they charge a little more for alarms an other auto stuff so it was just a concern. but then they might screw me over with installation charges. What do you think. im in southern ca 45 min east of LA

Well, you could do one of 2 things...

1) cheack out your local shops and see what brands they sell, if you find one that has the brands you like/want but are a bit pricey, pourchase online, then have them do the install, as they will be totally familiar with the product. Most shops will charge more for brands that aren't familiar with, since it will take some time to understand thier functions and installation procedures.

2) get any brand you want, providing they come with all the install instructions and then contact me :D Been doing it for 13 years and i'm in SoCal/orange county. I also have a few choices for alarms.

I've got a CompuStar 2WFM-AS with all options and I totally love it... I've also got the deck wired to one button and the sunroof wired to another... and if you're thinkin of getting a turbo, it has a built in turbo timer...

Maybe i will just buy it online or off ebay and then come to you mazdaspeedwest. I was wondering if you could PM with your store info and how much you would charge for installation on one(most likely however ill be getting a viper or something and not a compustar).

Also, on another note, i MIGHT even want to get silinoids and door popers installed if i can come up with enough money to get shaved doors.

Basically all the stuff i want is just a normal decent alarm with ignition kill and 4 button controller where its like button 1 and 2 are unlock and lock, but then each button pops open a different door when held down for like 3 seconds or whatever. My brother used to have just his driver side like this but i want to get all 4 doors for my p5.

yes thats a good price for the Viper 300ESP, providing the installation is of a profesional nature.

I do not know how to do it.. Thats why it is getting done by a pro.

Ya the guy does great job but he's always interrupted by phone calls and people dropping off tv's and stuff. :D

Anywayz anyone that's look'n for an alarm especially one with a pager unit, the compustar one is really awesome. Don't bother with the viper paging system as the compustar quality is like comparing Mazda to a Hyundai, what would you take?
