I am very good friends with the guy who makes the DDE's for bmw's.

If there is enough people intrested I could get some made in either the BMW style or with florcent lights (thats the new thing). also please tell me if more people are interested in the dual head lights or single. I would need to see the people with HID's to figure that out too.

Hmph, would it be possible to make a one piece unit for a 99-00 Protege? I was just wondering and I know you'd probably need alot of people, but that would be amazing. :D

Phantom Cruiser June-20th-2003 12:28 PM

what exactly are 'angel eyes'?

Ethanthegod9 June-20th-2003 01:26 PM

One piece as in what exactly??

Angle eyes are lighted rings around the headlights. they come stock on 5 series BMW's. then people with the 3 series wanted them and then IS300's and now all the little ricers with civics have them.

(I am a little ricer too, I have a bluce car with a body kit :D )

The aftermarket one's are called DDE or Daylight Demon Eyes

^CL4RK^ June-20th-2003 02:12 PM

By one piece I mean incorporating the turn signal and the actual headlight portion into one piece to get rid of the space between them. If you look at my signature, you'll see they are separate from each other. Thanks.

Ethanthegod9 June-20th-2003 03:29 PM

I could ask my friend about making that I am not sure what would need to be moved around. is anyone in San Diego that I could look at their car??

Also for the what is an angle eye Question :

Well I have an 03.5 MP5 and have replaced the lows and fogs with 5200k xenon/krypton bulbs and have 8200k Nokya's coming for the high beams. I would definately be interested in some blue angel eyes if the pricing was right.

deathuntofoes June-21st-2003 03:16 PM

ditto....

Ditto to that MP5 angel eyes.....that would be PHAT!!

Agreed. That would make the 99-00's look a whole lot cleaner.

Just expressing my interest in some one piece angel eyes. It is the one thing that I am jealous about on some Civics.

One of the coolest lighting things I hae ever seen. This thing is scary!

rosendo192000 June-29th-2003 01:09 AM

angle eyes are hella easy to make them the hard part is opening the housing and sealing it up correctly
heres a link how to make them ANGLE EYES

hope this helps

p5sunDevil June-29th-2003 05:47 PM

OK well I was thinking fo getting all the supplies together and making a bunch of angel eye sets that everyone here could use on their pro's.

I wanted to kow,. first, how much interest there was in people around here looking to purchase them. I would make them in a couple different lighting colors and would only be looking to make minimal profit to cover my costs and a little opportunity cost for the time used to make em.

So is there interest?

rosendo192000 June-29th-2003 05:48 PM

no

Proto2k June-29th-2003 06:25 PM

I am in if you can make some for us with 99s and 2ks.

from what I have seen for making them it would just be a matter of finduing out the sizes for those applications and mkaing them accordingly.

I am still waiting to see if this would be cost efficient for me.

deathuntofoes June-30th-2003 10:11 PM

Definitely interested......I looked for some clear rods at BOTH Home Depot and Lowes, and neither one had smooth ROUND ones, only like multi-sided ones.....at least make some for me, I would pay for them, and a little profit, plus shipping.

deathuntofoes June-30th-2003 10:13 PM

a friend of mine is a member of a tuner club here in Tally, and his whole crew are making some for their cars, he said that the best way to bend the rods is not in the oven, but with a heat gun, and to open the housing, just stick them in the oven at 175-200 for only a few minutes, then the glue melts, and when finished, rubberband them back together, and remelt the glue in the oven....

deathuntofoes June-30th-2003 10:45 PM

If you have a P5 or MP3, or anything with the fog lights, HELLA sells Angel Eyes fog lights, as cheap as $45 online......and no need to risk fucking up your headlight housing..

p5sunDevil July-1st-2003 08:38 PM

any linkage to those HELLA ones? The only way they could make it so you dont have to take apart your headlight is if they sell the headlight with the eyes installed already and I am doubting they sell headlights for the pro's for 45....

Anyway from what I have heard and seen you dont HAVE to have the round rods, I ahve seen applications done with the flat sided ones and it looks just as good.

I am going to make a pair for my fog lights and see how easy it is, if I like it then Ill make more for my high beamns and any for people that ant them. I wasnt planning o using the oven either as I have an electric heat gun.

deathuntofoes July-1st-2003 09:51 PM

just do a basic yahoo search for "Optilux Angel Eyes." They are a little smaller than the stock foggers, 4" as oposed to 6". The guy from the car-domain link i think has these.....they are $56, or on EBAY, you can BUY NOW for 49.95. And yes, they are two entire lights.....wiring and mounting materials included. The guy I know is gonna try to make me some as well, but if you get the high beams done before he can...LET ME KNOW!!!! I will not pay too much for them, because I will have to open up my housings and install them myself. Just give me a price...

deathuntofoes July-1st-2003 09:53 PM

also, how much was your exhaust?

p5sunDevil July-2nd-2003 10:31 AM

mine?

I got my ractive catback off ebay for 107 plus shipping.

Came to about 140 total.

Protege_Joe July-17th-2003 05:16 AM

Angel eyes...Ide take some not the FOG lights but head lights ide love a set

icynelly August-6th-2003 10:41 PM

to revice this old thread I would like to say that I am interested. Someone make some for the 99-00!

p5sunDevil August-7th-2003 02:19 PM

ok i am going to home depot today to buy the rods(the 6sided kind, they look just as good as round rods if done right) and then to radio shack to buy the LED's, wiring and resistors. Should cost me less than 10bux.

I am making them for my foglights first(since they are the easiest to take off and apart) and see how they look. If I like em I will make another set for my high beams although I wont be installing them untill after Sept 1st.

If you guys still want some after I make em and see how it goes then I will just need the diameter and color LED you want and will be able to make em pretty easily.

The reason for Sept 1 is I am moving back down to AZ where my parents live to finish my last semester of college, my dads garage has a million and one tools including an electric heat gun which is what I want to use for the rods and headlight housing.

As for the HELLA lights they are the fog lights with angel eyes installed. for 46 or somethin. When I can buy the supplies for 10bux and do it myself and keep my 6" fogs instead of going to 4" ones. That is what I was tryin to say, sorry for the confusion.

icynelly August-7th-2003 04:16 PM

im interested but what about for my heads? I got a 99 pro. Different headlights...

deathuntofoes August-8th-2003 12:54 PM

I would be VERY interested.....I just want them for my high beams, I got a 03 P5, so the high-beams arent completely round.

The foglights don't come apart enough to be of any good. The glass is GLUED to the reflector, so you're SOL... :(
