Amps on Box?

Alright here's the deal. I'm building a custom enclosure and wanted to mount the amps on it facing outwards for appearance. Some people have told me that this is a bad idea (vibrations) and others have said no problem. Does anyone have any experience and/or advice?

I think it should be aight, I mean if you were to mount it on the back of the seat rigt behind the enclosure(like mine) i'm sure it vibrates just as hard ,just make sure your connections are good and you should be str8.....let me know how it goes:D

I agree. Your amps will be vibrated to kingdom come in the trunk no matter how you look at it. I have seen people do so with amps such as Phoenix Gold with plexiglass bottoms so you can see those "innerds." I think it's a cool thing. On top of that, add some neon to reflect on the amps, and whammo, you got a pretty tricked out looking set up!

I had mine on the box, and it worked fine, sounded good. I was tired of kids breaking in and trashing my car so I made it easier for them by putting the amp and box together. good thing was when i did that the crime spree stoped:D

i have always put the amp on the box in all my stereo installs.. never had a problem, the subs for my computer have the amp on the box too..

i dont like that idea, because for one, if somone wanted to steal ur system, its alot easier for them to grab it all in one piece and walk away, they can easily cut the wires. now if ur box is bolted or screwed into the floor, you might havea small chance of keeping the stuff. But ive seen some incidents that since the people couldnt steal the stuff, they busted holes in the subs. IGNORANT @$$holes. but my sub is screwd down in my trunk and the amp is bolted to the back of my seat.
