It could be.....
Rca went bad
your outputs (deck) aren't puting out
your inputs not picking it up
your outputs (amp) aren't putting out
Is your remote wire hooked up right
dose it have a short somewhere
check all fuses on amp and off
These are all things I have ran in to with people..
Check all the easy stuff first if it still dont work try diff deck and RCAs

I had problems with my amp and everything was hooked up properly except that the remote wasn't in there far enough. I respliced it and shoved it down, screwed the terminal and every thing worked. Also, check your gains and if you have an xover check to see if output isn't turned all the way down. If sub is used, it could be bad. I doubt RCAs have any thing to do with it. RCAs if cheap, would cause problems with noise I would think. Also, if the remote was bad or incorrectly hooked up, it wouldn't even power up. Is there a way of trying to hook up regular speakers to amp to make sure it is not your sub? Your deck my have the sub output turned off, if it is like the Kenwood MP3s that come in the higher end Proteges. Whatever it is, let us know, because there are so many factors and damn you got my curiousity going!

Posting in the right forum? Are you in the right area bob? This is for car stereo and a problem with an amp relates to this forum. If it was more geared toward an electrical problem (alternator, installing alarm, etc.) then he would have posted under electronics. In any case, glad to see the problem is resolved.;)
