Altezza owners! Please help!

don't know if anyone has seen this, but APC
has changed the design of the euro clear
lenses [aka altezzas] for the G3 Protege.

the old design only had the three round red
lenses [as pictured on the following page]...

http://protege000.tripod.com/2000maz...egedx/id8.html

the new design has a big tacky reflector along
the outer edge of the housing [as pictured on
the following]...

does anyone know a place that may still have
stock on the older design? APC says they are no
longer available, but i'm sure there are some on
shelves out there. any help on this would be
appreciated. tx.

the older style might still be stocked at nopi.com in their electronic catalog..

nopi also seems to have the cheapest price on the APC ones in carbon fiber and chrome.

then again, I ordered something from nopi yesterday that was badly backordered (so I don't know if their web page is up to date stock wise..)

but if you can't get the old style its for your "own safety" ;)

actually, that outside red reflector make the lights completely street leagal. if you look at your stock lights, you have to have a red reflector facing the back AND the side.

It looks good on the carbon fiber version :) Here they are on my car.

I have to send mine back to JCWhitney though, since someone cracked my right one. :o But anyway, the reflector doesn't look too bad on the CF version imho.

i ordered them through NOPI. that's how i know
there's a new style. they drop-shipped directly
from APC and, despite NOPI's website picturing
the old style, the new style is what was sent.

as for the safety aspect, why would they've
made the old ones for so long if they were
that unsafe? didn't they have to be safety
"certified"? weird.

i am still interested if anyone has any leads.
thanks for the feedback guys.

to get around the safety thing or legalities of the product, all they have to do is make the statement:

"intended for off-road use only"

lawyers

anyway, i don't know where you will be able to find the other style. you will probably have to call around and ask.
