Alpine vs Rockford Fosgate

Hi

I have a dilema I have been listening bad and good reviews about Alpine and Rockford Fosgate amps so I'm all confuse, wich amp should I go for?

What Subwoofer should I go for, Infinity, Alpine or Audiobahn?

thanks

Alex

I have used Rockford's in my car and my friend uses alpine's in his har. I think they are both great amps for their price range and can out-power many amps priced higher then them. I think rockford fosgate has a great return policy and service department if you have any problems with their products. Their subs can take a beating, too. I think I would take the Alpine subs first, then infinity then Audiobahn (which I have not reviewed or heard any news about them).

I have a rockford sub in my car and an infinity in my home theater. They are both great products.

For subs I recomend JL, great stuff. As for the amps, it depends, what's your price range?

I guess that my price range will be dictate but what I need and how good the amp, so the answer is I'm willing to go as high as I need but I don't think I need a 1000 $ amp.

This is what I have on my car as now, and I'm not looking for loud sound, but for good quality Sound :)

My friend w/alpine amp uses jl10w0 subs and they sound very good. He has two 10's with the alpine Alpine MRP-M200
(129.99 crutchfield) amp powering both of them.

They sound just as good as my 12' Rockford Z sub just take up more space in his trunk.

Think he spent $800 for the subs, amp, box, wiring and instal.

That was last summer so i am sure you can get everything for less now.

Maybe you should get an infinity sub to match you other speakers.

Wich of these two 4 channel amps should I go for to power infinity my speaker?

I agree about the JL Audio W0 series. They are inexpensive and also sound really good. As far as amperage goes, you could get a 4 channel amp, have the HU run the rear speakers, and have 2 of the 4 channels pushing your front speakers, and bridge the other two channels to push your subwoofer(s). Two channel amps can be run in "tri-mode" pushing a pair of speakers and a subwoofer, but most don't recommend for SQ purposes. Whether you decide on an Alpine 4 channel amp or a Rockford is up to you. If you can find a shop that sells both, see about testing them side by side playing through the same head unit and speakers to hear any audible difference. I know in the past, I kept an Alpine amp that was 40Wattsx2 over a Kenwood 75Wattsx2 because of the better sound quality. Sure the Kenwood was louder, but it just didn't sound smooth and natural the way music is intended to be played. (I don't know how Kenwood's new amps, esp. Excelon series sounds nowadays). I think you will be happy with either though.
