Alpine Type R Components

Is anyone running the type-r components (5.25) in their p5? Just asking cause i want to make sure they fit before i get them. I tried fusion 6.5 but the magnet is too big.

I also tried to fit 6.5 in the doors and ran into the same problem. I am using kicker RS5's. Since that is the top for the kicker line the magnets are probably fairly similar in size. I do not think that you should have any problems with the 5.25". If you want to use some custom kick panels I was told that you had to go with 4" speakers because the panels will get in the way of the clutch if you use a larger speaker.

the fusion 6.5" 2-ways fit, without any mods either. i believe someone on here is running the type-r's, not too sure who tho.

How? I had to grind top/bottom of speaker opening and sealing ring on door panel to have no interference with cone

Damn I totally forgot-I had to put them in with basket on horisontal and vertical axis. If you put them diagonally, they fit fine. I made adaptors myself and screwes were too close.

i'm running a complete type-R setup all round... but i got the 5x7's in the front - perfect fit... and the 6.5 in the back - had to bend the steel a bit since the typeR 6.5's are oversized slightly...

i paid $190CDN for them... but yeah... you'll hafta hammer out the frame a bit... cuz it's a REALLY snug fit since the coax'ers are slightly oversized...
