? About Caliper Paint

Which caliper paint is the best to use? I was thinking about buying the 16 oz. VHT Caliper Paint. I also the the G2 Caliper Paint kit is that better? If I plan to paint the front calipers, the front inner rotor part ( not sure what exactly it's called ), and the rear drums, about how many 16 oz. cans would I need? Thanks a lot.

I used the VHT Racing Red caliper paint on my Pro5. I even used it on the my Z24. One can is enough for all the brakes and drums.

You can always use barbeque paint. It withstands the heat, and can be found at most home improvement stores.

All I did was go to AutoZone and got the High Heat Paint for Engines, 1200 degrees, and it last. The bottle had a picture of a hotrod engine w/ flames coming out the back. Only about $4.00

When I painted my calipers I used the "brush-on" aircraft epxoy paint. I didn't really have to mask ANYTHING. You simply brush it on, it recommeds 2 costs, which I did. It was pretty basic.

It may cost a bit more than the "spray paint", but "MY" Protege5 is worth it! When I was done, i was thinking, had I used spraypaint I would have had to mask off every little part, but by using the brush, I made sure that I painted everywhere that showed.

If your going to do a job, do it right!

Later, Speedbump.
