'91 LX Wiring schemes??

Getting ready to wire my back speakers and just looked at the colors of the wires. Does anybody know what color combonation is for the positive wire and which is for the negative wire? On the left and right speakers there is different colors. I know standard is Red = Postive, Black = Negative. The only thing is that there is Blues and other colors. Any body know where I could get some information on which wire is what?

first off...does your car already have rear door speakers? or are you going to tap into and tun them off the fronts?

If you are in reallity just UPGRADING by replacing your speakers....just look at the connection on the speaker, most are marked with a '+' or a '-' OR in some cases there is a red dot next to the positive.

IF you are just adding on the speakers to the fronts....then pop off a front door panel and remove the front speaker and look at it for the same information as above....write it down and you are ready to go.

unless you can get a specific diagram for your year/model of car....the BEST and most accurate thing you can do is pop off the door panel and look for yourself.

I'm upgrading by removing the rear deck speakers. The wires have proprietary connectors on them. What I was thinking is clip them off and splice the wires together with normal speaker wire. I looked on the old stock speakers and didn't see any dots or + & - symbols. Not sure what to do at this point..

OKAY...the guru's can (and will) correct me if I am wrong....BUT...the "-" is the ground for your speaker.....use a meter and check for continuity with one of the wires....then the other. the one that you find has continuity....its the ground or "-" for the speaker.....

you DO have a 50/50 shot at getting it right...and worse case senerio is that your front speakers and rear speakers will be out of phase with one another.
