6.5 LCD indash screen with DVD Playtion

Hay guys and gals,
Go to my photos album link in my sig. and check out the 6.5" LCD indsh screen with playtion and DVD I just installed. Also check out the dash work on the passenger side. I had the perferated setion of the dash above the glove box and all the arm pulls dyed black to match prefeated section on the sides of the center console. Also dyed all the A-B-C pillars. When it comes in I'm installing preferated black leather to the cloth section in the door panles to match the preferated black vyinal sections,e perfarted lether on the Momo steering wheel, and the scuff grauds on the seats.
Enjoy

Kick ass man. Awesome interior all the way around.

Now you can watch movies while you AutoX :D.

Btw, can I ask what rails you're using for your seats? Thanks.

biknman March-16th-2002 08:25 PM

Seat rails

Kincaid
Thanks. Seat rails are custom fabricated from angle iron and bolts from Ace Hardware using only the feet of the rails from the stock seats. The sliders rails are from Tenzos made for the Tenzo Rally seats. I just spent the last 1/2-hour pulling the LCD screen, head unit, woofer, rear seat, spare tire, etc out of the car for Autoxing.

Looks great man...............got a question for you.....how much did you have to pay for the DVD player and the LCD screen ????
did you install it yourself ?

njaremka March-28th-2002 10:44 AM

looks like a clean install, but if you have the rest of your car stripped and race ready (some what) why have a dvd and playstation installed?

rant:
i never understood why you would want a playstation in a car, or even a dvd system unless you drove a minivan around with 4 kids in the back every day. i also never understood why someone would install a second tach into thier car when it comes with one from the factory. maybe it's just me.

I practically live in my car for work or pleasure. At work my bread and butter is in A/V (audio video) as I'm an Video Telecommunications Feild Engineer. Since I spend so much time in my car for work travleing there is nothing like a round of Grand Terisemo II at lunch to work out the stress from drive around the Washington D.C. Beltway.
Also I do a lot of traveling on weekends to enjoy my other hobbies such as Mountain Biking. It’s really cool to have a long day on the trails then relax with a beer and some Shrek on the Video. Plus it makes the long ride to the mountains really short if you have a couple videos to watch or some games to play.
Also note, I have 99 Protégé with 93,000 miles because its been across the US four times up and down the east coast more times than I can remember and this summer it will see a couple trips to Georgia, North Carolina, at least three to New England, and one long trip in August to Canada as I'm entered in a six day Mountain bike race across the Canadian Rockies.
Plus not only do I plan on racing my car about six times this year but also I plan on showing it at some car shows.

:) Versatility and flexibility goes along way to having some fun! ;)

hey if that's what you like then more power to you! :) like i said though, it's not for me. the only time i think about having something like that is when my wife and i go parking :D

Makaveli March-29th-2002 04:10 AM

biknman, make sure you let us know before you come to Canada, especially if you're going by Vancouver

biknman March-29th-2002 06:51 AM

Makaveli,

This is a description of the route:
Starting in Fernie, British Columbia, amateur and pro mountain bikers will take to gravel paths, steep climbs and mountain passes as they traverse the Canadian Rockies to arrive in Canmore, Alberta, one of the most beautiful mountain communities in the world. http://www.transrockies.de/en/

I don't think I'll get very close to Vancouver. But it would be cool to see what going on up north with Protege seen. :)

WTF is parking? I wish my life was so simple that PARKING was exiting. No pun intended but parking, hum? I'm not getting something here. Do you mean parking in a spot with a great view of the setting sun so you can work polishing your shift knob? :):):)!
