hey people, i'm new here so WAAAAZZAAAAPPPPP.....been reading ur posts and am really happy so far.....

now as the subject 'hints'....where oh where do i put all this shit? so far we've come up w/ a custom box that will basically comprise three separate connecting boxes(1 dual box against the back seat & two single boxes in each corner) and then the amps bolt unto the back seat.......ANYONE KNOW A BETTER WAY???.....looking for new ideas...pleez pleez pleez:rolleyes:

if it were me......I'd say "In the trash". I'm more into racing and that much stereo stuff would kill the speed of my car.

I would suggest having a stereo shop mold you a box out of fiberglass or if you're crafty with wood you could build something with 2 subs behind the seat and a sub behind each tail light with the amps in the middle. This however leaves you with no trunk space and about 200lbs of dead weight.

my opinion...sell one amp and 2 12's and use it to buy you some performance parts......but once again

oh yes....ye of little sound appreciation...i agree i'm into speed as well, but i get that from a 2003 yamaha yzf r1.....i was considering a fiberglass box tho......think this'll work well........there are a bunch of us here who like to experiment, we shall hav fun

your idea sounds alright.....I have a wood enclosure that's ported that i built for my old 626 which i also use for my protege. I find that the bigggest hassle is those stupid trunk lid hinges the eat up so much trunk space. What you could do is fiberglass the bottom of the trunk to use all that air space in the spare tire area to add for the air volume. That would still give you plenty of room for your speakers and your amps could go right in the middle with lots of space to spare.

I had two 12's and a large amp and that took up my entire trunk. It was so powerfull that the car shook.

I understand a bit of base but thats a bit much. I would use only half of that and sell the rest. You could use the money for other parts. A car always needs parts! :)

Isobarik encolosure twice the subs half the room. I really like the idea behind it, clamshell would be the best.

I'd recommend removable boxes for the subs and the amps can go under the seats but with those subs in the trunk you wont have any space to put anything. My brother got removable boxes and they sound just a good as molded ones and if you need to carry something you can just take em out and you have you're trunk back.

It's definately possible to fit it all in there, however, there will be absolutely no usable space anymore. With a setup that size, (unless you literally place all four 12's into individual boxes that can be removed easilly) you won't be able to access your spare tire anymore, either. As far as making it look nice, there's about 6,000,000 articles floating around the internet regarding fiberglassing techniques. Read a few of them and take it all in, they all have good tips and tricks that you can use together. You could run a pair of 12s on each side of the trunk facing each other in the middle, and mount the amps in the middle on the floor or airborne on some kind of rack (so they'll cool better). Just keep in mind that with that kind of bass, You're gonna need some wicked highs. Where are you going to put that amp? I was barely able to fit 3 10's into my trunk with an amp for them and 1 for the highs, along with my 2nd battery. But I also still have access to my spare.

use 1 of the 12s in ported box of 24"L x 12"D x 121/2"H..all inside ###or use 2 of the 12s in a sealed 28"L x 12"D x 121/2H...all inside ###..use amp on subs the other amp the top ed or inside the car...what is the of the amps you using for the setup???????????
