3G body kits

I have read the FAQ a couple of times and I think I have narrowed down my decision for what body kit I want to get for my 99 ES - but I want to be completely sure.

I am for sure going to get the Mazdaspeed front bumper from CS because I know that fits. With that I want to combine the MP3/P5 skirts and the MP3 bumper - but in the FAQ it's a little unclear.

In the description of the MP3 kit it says "Mazda MP3 OEM kit (MazdaSpeed Familia Sedan Touring Kit A-Spec):
Cost is expensive because it is only available from the dealer. Highquality materials and meets all US DOT safety specs.

Front bumper is same as the Protegé 5's, but without the reflector markers.
Side skirts are the same as the Protegé 5's
Rear bumper skirt will bolt on to a stock bumper perfectly.

All parts are direct bolt-on without modifications. Front fender wells will
have to be replaced to accommodate the lower front bumper.
This kit will fit in 2001+ models ONLY. "'"

but then later on it says when talking about options for 99-00 owners:

"You have 2 choices. Expensive choice is to retrofit the newer 3rd generation
front end into your older 3rd generation Protegé and get the complete MP3
body kit. The more cost effective choice is to get the 1999-2000 Familia
S-Wagon Sport20 JDM OEM front bumper and get the rest of the pieces from the
MP3."

So which is it?
MP3 kit fits 2001+ only or
get the rest of the pieces from the MP3?

Fits 2001+ only. The front fenders are different. I suppose you could change out the fenders and headlights also, but then the cost is huge. Erebuni makes a kit that fits the 99-00 and the sport 20 kit fits the 99-00 also. That's the one I like and I wish they made it for the 01+. I'll just have to settle for the wings west kit I guess.

I already know about how the MP3 front bumper doesn't fit a 99-00 without modifications - what I'm asking is whether or not the MP3 side skirts and rear bumper fit or not. Anybody know?

Yes the side skirts and back bumper will fit the 99-00 protege. The only thing that was changed in 2001 is the headlights, and well to go with that change, the front bumper, hood, and fenders. Also, the mp3 kit isn's a new back bumper, just skirts that are added on to the bottom. Side skirts and back bumpers are the same for all 3rd gens, obviously back bumper isn't the same for the pro5. Anyways, before you go ahead and place your order just make sure someone agrees with me, but I'm looking into the wings west kit for my '00 3rd gen, so I'm pretty sure.

correct... this should be in the faq.. but i'm not positive if it is. as far as we know, side skirts and rear bumper are same. just front end is different.
