2010 Mazda 3 Sunroof Removal for servicing

Hello!

I bought my daughter a used 2010 Mazda 3 last year. At one point the moon roof jammed. We later found out that the moon roof glass had been replaced after being shattered. According to a Mazda dealership that my daughter took it to, the people who did the work left a whole lot of broken glass in there and it was jamming the operation. The original shop refused to work on it as we were not the owners when the work was originally done...

OK, so for some strange reason i enjoy fighting with repairs myself. I checked a few videos and almost have removed the headliner (and had some shattered glass come down also). Only problem is that it is still attached by some wires from the front overhead switch/light console run along the inside of the headliner and tacked down by spots of glue, trailing off down the back posts. I have tried a bit to explore the back pillars, but am having a lot of trouble finding out how to remove them. I found one push-pin in each, and that is about it so far.

Anyone able to give me some guidance here? I suspect that i might be able to release the sun/moon/whatever roof and remove without dropping the headliner the rest of the way with a little more contortion, but with 90° heat and high humidity, if it can be done easier, i want to know about it - my clothes are soaked with sweat. About the only thing worse is to try to do it in the evening, for that is when the mosquitoes gang up on me-

Thank-you, all, for considering the problem; i appreciate your expertise and help very much!

P.S.: How do i know what "Gen"(eration) this is?

Well, those wires are glued to the headliner and you will have to pull them off breaking the glue bond, then fish the headliner through your trunk.
