2003 Protege - trunk rattle?
 

I'm about to buy my friend's 2003 Protege. 100,000 miles on it, but he's selling it for $1500, so hey. But I'm going to put 2 ProAcoustic 12-in. subwoofers in the trunk. My question is, does anyone know if the trunk will rattle or not? I had these subs in my '92 Saturn SL2 and the sound was horrible on the outside! But then again, the saturn is made out of what it looks like, cheap plastic.

they will vibrate. any car will do that. it just depends on the level of dampening available. some cars have more than others. you can fix that by applying additional dynamat (or equivalent) until you dont hear any more vibration. but your dampening is only as good as your weakest link. if the trunk isnt vibrating, the license plate might, or the rear lamps, or the spare, or the jack, etc. then the solution is to sound dampen even more, or play the music a little less loudly...
