2002 Pro Install Fog Lights

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum, i think its great. I have a question. I just got a brand new 2002 protege LX. I love the car, and i'm interested in a few things for it, the first being fog lights. Does anyone know a site with a good how to ? If not, can someone lemme know how to install them ? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks and keep driving !

I suggest you purchase the fog light kit from Mazda since it will be a perfect fit to the odd shaped holes in our grills. The installation is very easy and a how-to guide comes with the kit. Very easy for the do-it yourselfer.

Thanks, I was thinking about that, but they are really expensive, and from what i've heard, aren't really good. I was thinking about going with Pilot fogs.

Try here for the stock fog lights. I have the stock sedan fogs on my ES and have no complaints. I installed PIAA bulbs however which are a little brighter than stock. I seldom use my foglights also but, they're not bad.

If you go aftermarket for a fog light kit, they are not that hard to install. Just secure them to the bumper and run the wires. You can usually run the wires through the firewall were there are already existing wires so you won't have to drill a hole. Just remember to make sure the rubber grommet goes back into the hole to keep the elements out. You could even buy the stock fog light switch and wire it to work with the lights you get to keep that stock look.

Good-Luck on whatever you decide.

Just installed the OEM fog lights in my 02 LX a few days ago, and they work great. I think most of the complaints for the fog lights were for the Pro5. Even though they're bigger, they don't seem to work as well.

If you install aftermarket fog lights (esp small round ones) you will kill the look of your car. You can easily find used sedan fog lights in the for sale section. Someone is bound to have some laying around. Go OEM! ALL my opinion, though.

Yea, i think i might do that, thats a good idea. Thanks. Wheres the "for sale" section ? I just got the car 2 weeks ago, if anybody has a bra for it for sale, my email address is sunil6784@yahoo.com.

I installed the OEM fogs in under 1 hour. They work great, and look great. Just be careful with the clips on the bumper, around the headlights (kinda tricky). Everything is pre-wired; just plug and play!
