01 Head unit removal
 
I tried removing with home made tools,didnt work,went and bought 2 pairs of DT1 tools and tried with those didnt work.Any one have helpful hints on removal for this HU...

did you remove the side covers of the radio? I used butterknives.

oh boy! I had so much trouble removin the head unit and when I saw someone remove it for me, i realise how easy it was. Pics would be of great help to you so I'll see what I can do to get some to you.

Matty told me the same thing but I still couldn't get the shit out. Anyways as I said, I'll see how soon I could post some pics for you on this matter.

It'll be so much easier to understand by showin' you rather than tellin' you especially if you've never done this before.

If you know anyone who has ever done a stereo install on a Ford or a Mazda that would be the man to ask. A friend of mine who works for a stereo installation company locally here helped me out- its hard to explain it, but it is quite easy once you get it figured out.

yeah I got it done,the problem I had was the clips on the right side were bent out and kept grabbing onto the dash.I wound up unscrewing the side plate itself..lol
