01 Head unit removal
I tried removing with home made tools,didnt work,went and bought 2 pairs of DT1 tools and tried with those didnt work.Any one have helpful hints on removal for this HU...

did you remove the side covers of the radio? I used butterknives.

Were are they located?How do you do that?

oh boy! I had so much trouble removin the head unit and when I saw someone remove it for me, i realise how easy it was. Pics would be of great help to you so I'll see what I can do to get some to you.
Matty told me the same thing but I still couldn't get the shit out. Anyways as I said, I'll see how soon I could post some pics for you on this matter. It'll be so much easier to understand by showin' you rather than tellin' you especially if you've never done this before. |
If you know anyone who has ever done a stereo install on a Ford or a Mazda that would be the man to ask. A friend of mine who works for a stereo installation company locally here helped me out- its hard to explain it, but it is quite easy once you get it figured out.

yeah I got it done,the problem I had was the clips on the right side were bent out and kept grabbing onto the dash.I wound up unscrewing the side plate itself..lol
