New Girl on the block!

Hiya pps..

As you can see from the above message...I'm new, and my car's a virgin....:D

I've been wanting to soop it up for a while now but never had the cash flow...now that I do, I wanna get started...but just don't know where to start....

I know I wanna put in a cold air intake system, and an intercooler first...but not sure what would fit?

Any suggestions?

ZoomZoomH September-10th-2002 10:51 PM

eh, intercoolers are for TURBOs only....... :D

but cold air intake is a good start!

do a search on it!

btw, welcome!

lil_sushi September-10th-2002 10:51 PM

Sorry..forgot to mention the most important fact....

MY CAR..tee hee

it's a 2000 Protege...

that's it...:)

ZoomZoomH September-10th-2002 10:53 PM

oh you have a 2000? check out my car then! see which mods you like! :D

znole September-10th-2002 11:00 PM

Hey lil_sushi with the tee hee car, drop me a line if you like some suggestions on the mods. I also have a 2000 Protege somewhat done up. Oh btw, I like sushi especially the hand rolled ones. Yeah, with a lot of wasabi sauces. Anyhow, welcome a board!

lil_sushi September-10th-2002 11:06 PM

hmmm...I like the lights, and the exhaust...but i don't want my car to really catch any attention...i'm scared of it getting stolen and then i'll lose my insurance...it's majorly high...

how much hp/torque does the exhaust add to the car?

nightowl September-10th-2002 11:07 PM

easiest things would be a new intake and catback exhaust

compustar

jali....where did you get yours installed? How much? (if you don't mind me asking)

Thanks.

jali-p5 September-11th-2002 12:15 PM

i could have sworn i told you at the toprotege.com site when you asked me there. in any event, i got it done in sauga by a couple of philipino guys.....they did it for an accord club group buy that my friend was part of so i was able to get it for the same price ($540 including backup siren + taxes) he's done it on like 20 accords and a few protege's so i figured he knows what he's doing......so far (knock on wood) nothing has gone wrong with the install.....the place is located on britannia + dixie, don't remember the name, but here's the address and stuff

1759 Britannia Road, Unit 21
905-795-1991

they do audio and alarms and stuff......kinda ghetto, but they're a pretty cool bunch of guys.......

lil_sushi September-12th-2002 10:38 AM

Just wanted to say: THANKS EVERYONE for the warm welcome...

Wow...Looking at all of the suped up protege's on this site has given me new hope...lol...

all my buddies have hondas, accords and tegs...now I'm obsessed with adding mods to my car...but I'm not gonna go too nuts yet...just gonna start off with clear headlights...lol...

it's small but it's a start...*giggle*

jali-p5 September-12th-2002 03:58 PM

hey lil_sushi, don't mean to sound like a prick, but aren't your headlights already clear?? or did you get the new 2003 models and so have the black housing for the lights and you want the full chrome lights. if it's the latter, then i wouldn't mind doing a little swap......your lights for my lights........if you're in the toronto area, come out to the next meet and check out the club (www.toprotege.com) :D

lil_sushi September-12th-2002 11:33 PM

oops...you're totally right...They're clear corner lights...lol...

well, live and learn...

I'm checking out the toprotege site and i'm trying to figure out when your next meet's gonna be.....i'd love to come out...i'd stick out like a sore thumb though...stock protege...lol
