Found my first chip today!!!

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later

Washed my car last night and found a chip in my beautifull P5's paint job. Funny thing is, it's located right over top of the drivers side tail light assy. almost under where the Hatchback closes over top ot the rear panel. :wtf:

The thing is like an eysore and it pisses me off to know its there.

Anybody else use Mazda's touch up paint? How well does it work?
Used to have a honda and using their touch up paint was like trying to paint the mona lisa with a roller.

:(

Hahaha, damn that's funny

Hey, how did you get the 'chip'? There were a couple of tiny ones on my spoiler, so Mazda just replaced it since it seemed like they didn't let the paint dry well enough when they were painting it...

Bigger problems than just a chip.

Not too sure how the chip got there but I got bigger problems than that now.

I was on my way home from work on friday and Just took my eyes off the road for a split second when WHAM!!! I ran into the guy infront of me.

I'm soo @#$%ing mad at myself. Basically the driver side headlam is non-existant, left fender is crumpled into the wheel well, the hood is bent under itself and the bumper has a nice new hole in it. :bonk:

My ride wasn't even a week old yet!!!!! The guy I hit was really nice about it and took $100 bucks and went on his way. The killer parts is it turns out, he lives right around the block from me!!! Funny how you meet your neighbour in the funniest ways.

Looks to be anwhere from $3000 to $5000 worth of damage and about two weeks without it:tear:

Excuse me, I've got to go cry myself to sleep now.

I hate to be the bearor of bad news, but it may be more than just 3k - 5k. I had a similar accident in my 99 Pro and it totalled to over 7K! You can see the pics of the accident by clicking the link at the bottom of my sig. I thought my accident was wierd when the hood bent under itself, but I guess this is a normal problem.

Mr Green

P.S. Sorry bout the accident BTW. I know what it feels like.

:(

Shit dude, that is pretty bad, My hood isn't nearly as messed up as that, just the corner is bent under, I guess they will have to replace it anyways. Don't know anything about body work.

How long did it take to get it back on the road??

Mr_Green April-15th-2002 10:32 AM

I took it to a REALLY good body shop. A group of friends and I fell under some wierd "curse" or whatever. 8 of us were involved in accidents within a 5-6 month period. My car took about 4 wks or so to fix. They were great! I really loved the idea that they reinstall the left side sidemarker and "forgot to put the liscence plate on the front" for me. hehe :D . It was HELL without my car, especially because I had to drive a Chevy Metro

Oh well, it's mine again and i'm now extremely paranoid about the car and driving in the rain.

oh, BTW. Which georgetown are you from. wouldn't happen to be GeorgeTown, Tx?

avro05 April-15th-2002 10:38 AM

You'd be amazed at the # of times i get asked that.

Georgetown, Ontario is a little town about 20 mins west of Toronto.

Anytime your in the area, look me up. Theres always beer in the fridge!

Mr_Green April-15th-2002 11:02 AM

HAHAHA, if i'm EVER that far north i'll definitly do that. There are a lot of Georgetown's in the US, so that doesn't surprise me.
