www.coximport.com will fix you up with AEM for this price or maybe $10 cheaper. It's us canadians are screwed up with lousy exchange, taxes and shipping.

I'm still interested. Later in the spring would be better though

PatProtegeGT1 February-19th-2002 07:22 PM

I don't think it will work, it's very expensive and most of our member will buy the RActive. 125$ instead of 300$

already got mine.....

Hey Catchme, maybe your friend could hook us up also. May not as cheap has you, but still a good price. If you are a member of clubprotegequebec.com, you would know how many people are interested in these mods. Maybe your friend could make some money if we were all to come to him.

I was getting some connectors for my spearkers today at Precision Acoustic and noticed they have tons of performance stuff as well. I asked the guy about the AEM short ram. He got on the phone, got a price for me of 340$. That was without any haggling or anything. I'm pretty sure I can talk him down a little more. I didn't ask him about a group buy though.

Anyways, this guy seems like a pretty honest guy, quite helpfull. He basically said he can get anything for the car. I asked him about the P5 side skirts and MP3 rear skirt. He can get it from Racing Beat so I'm thinking it would be cheaper than trying to get it through a Mazda dealer. He even showed me really quick how to make a mesh grill for the bumper.

Anyways, the guys name is Mike at Precision Acoustics, 2110 Marcel Laurin in St. Laurent. It's behind Planet Mobile.

what were his instructions on making the grill??

Grill

A little off topic but here it goes.

Take the bumper off first. cut out a peice of mesh (aluminum) about 1" larger than the hole you want to cover. Cut the corners of the mesh off so it's easier to bend. Bend the mesh around to match the contour of the inside of the bumper so it's nice in snug. Get some poly-urathane (kinda like caulking, you need a cauking cun to apply it) and run a bead of it down each side (on the inside of the bumper so it's not visible). Let it dry for a few hours and re-install the bumper.

I haven't done this yet but it sounds like a peice of cake. I have to take the bumper off to re-install my foglights anyways and that's most the work of installing the mesh apparantly. I always thought that the meshes were installed using nuts and bolts and stuff but this sounds easier and faster.
