24,000 KM Maintenance at dealer

I didn't get my 24K kms dealer maintenance done and now I've reached the 31K kms mark. How much does it cost, what exactly do they do, is it worth it, and is it important?

I do my own oil changes, locks/door lubes, and fluid level checks. Considering this, is there anything the dealer does at 24K that I can't do myself?

DON"T DO IT MAN..... I usually take my car to the dealer for oil changes anyways (I always take my own oil and filter and they only charge me like $7 for labour so I can't beat it) BUTBUT last time I took it in they asked if I wanted that...

Like and idiot I said sure why not don't need the car all day, "What exactly does it entail,..." I asked. Oh you know chasis torque, oil change, lube of all hinges... fluids... tire rotation... and a buncha other crap.....

Well I went to pick up the car, and they were like... "Oh that'll be $122 please!" I says pardon???? really thinking :wtf:

I was so fucken mad I just paid it and told them that was the last time I was bringing my car to them ever.... I was thinking like $60 or so that would have been fine.... but!!!!! I guess I should have asked first...

serves me right...:the finge

thanks for the advice. the $165 CDN price tag associated with it does seem a little steep for what they do. Strange, but my dealer doesn't even do a "chasis torque" as part of the maintenance - bastards!

There are no roads on the planet worse than Montreal roads!

r u guys nuts? Saskatchewan is dirt ass poor. You really think they can maintain all of their roads as well as any other province?

Car maintenance costs in Saskatchewan are easily triple the average cost of monthly maintenance in Alberta. The roads in Alberta are in horrible shape... but they are slowly being fixed cuz we somewhat have the cash for it.

Besides.. most of the roads in Saskatchewan are dirt/gravel...

Can you spot problems that are specific to your car before its too late? The mechs can.
As far as oil changes, you only save MAYBE $10 but doin it yourself...have Mazda do it. Mazda Oil (Well, Petro-Canada), Mazda filter, and people who recognize problems such as knocking, before it costs you $200!
