He guys,

I want to extend a warm invite to any people who'd like to make it out to a meet and show on the 9th of March. I've gotten 45+ people signed up so far so if they all come it should be nice.

Where: Tyson's II Mall on the the 2nd floor of Macy's parking garage
When: 3:00pm
What: Small show where you can enter to win some cash. Then at 6 or so we'll cruise to the Starbucks in Rockville (near Barnes & Nobels)
For some java refreshment.

There are a good variety of cars represented ie: Acuras, Toyotas, Hondas, Subarus... and we'd love for some DTM folks to show as well.
I think it will be a way bring the MD/DC/VA Import scene together.

If everyone could try to bring $2 that would be great. This money will all go into a hat as prize money. So if you want to win some cash then come shiney and clean. "

Because virtually nobody is showing REAL interest in a protege meet, maybe a few of us can tag along to this meet. Reply if you wanna go.

since I live like 5 minutes from Tysons II, I'll be there and put my car to shame :rant:

Tysons is only like 20 min from the Ft. Meade/Columbia, MD area so I'll be ther too.

Hay guys,
I'll be there on Saturday for the show on Sunday the 10th anybody going to the auto cross at SixFlags? I've already registered to race the thrid heat and work the fouth. I'll be there at 8:00am for setup and stuff. I'll bring an extra chair and some drinks in the cooler if anybody else comes. What time you guys meeting saturday? At 3:00 or like around 2:00 or 2:30? eeterp we can talk about the CF Hood deal.

has anyone set anything up for the races at six flags....that would be a good place to have a protege meet probably...even if people don't race there will be stuff to watch.....I don't even know where the six flags is as I am in SE VA. We need to have a meet...Who would want to try something in VA beach durring the early summer or before carlisle??

whats going on for the meets....the time is almost here and no one has said anyting and people need to take work off. I am four hours away, so I can't plan something for up there.

Unless someone wants to caravan to the meet, were just going to meet at Tysons II at 3:00PM on March 9th.

I started this thread on February-26th-2002. Sorry, you can't make it. There's a very BIG import meet on April 25th (I think) in Baltimore. Keep you calendar clear.!

The meet is picking up steam
 

It appears that interest for this meet on March 9th is growing. Online, I see a lot of Acuras (mostly CL's), BMW's, and now Benz's making plans to attend. I hope you guys will make the meet. Too often people say they're coming, but never show.

Everyone is still meeting at 3:00PM and later that evening a bunch of the cars are rolling up to the Starbucks in Rockville.

What's the latest status on this meet from the BMW side eeterp? Everything is still go?

I'm definitely showing up to at least check things out, since I live so close to Tysons II...

ok, the guy is having trouble getting a permit. the meet IS STILL ON, but may need to relocate. I'll post any new info ASAP.

unless I post anything different, assume the meet is still at Tyson's II.

IT'S STILL GOING AS PLANNED. EVERYTHING'S CONFIRMED:

We'll leave there around 5 pm so we can cruise to the Rockville Starbucks with a little daylight.

There are simple common courtesy conditions however:
We must park in the lines
We must not leave anything like trash etc
Do not congregate in the roadways
Do not hassle passersby.
Security will patrol and we need to listen to them and be polite.


I'd suggest you come early and do some shopping or plan a club dinner at one of the restraunts in the mall.

humm, after going back over this thread, it looks like we had 6 no shows!!! WOW! Come on guys. I understand there was a little rain, but the meet was in a parking garage. Everyone was covered.

Well, you all missed a great show. Some sweet supercharged M3's, WRX's, Acura CL's and RSX's, Audi S4's, IS300's, a new SLK AMG, etc. Not you're typical rice crap. There were over 100 cars there, including 5 Proteges: 2 MP3's and 3 third gens.

I got a lot of pics, but I don't have a digi camera or a scanner. Sorry.

sorry about that... I had a last second change of plan and had to go up to Gaithersburg, and before I was free to leave it was almost 5, and it was raining.... :(

Couldn't get off work. Ya know what though? Busch Gardens opens soon. Also when does the Richmond 1/4 open? Still several opporunities.

Busch Gardens is a great idea. we should setup a meet if more people would come down and up.....

Well it opens from March 23 to April 7 for Spring Break.
