itzkcatz February-7th-2003 07:00 PM

Why do u say that ?

nate0123 February-7th-2003 07:52 PM

He should enjoy his car!! Have fun with it. I know I would.

itzkcatz February-7th-2003 08:03 PM

Yeah thats smart what was i thinking dont let the motor break in just rev it up and drop it see what u can fuck up first... Stupid ass. Wait 800 miles before u open it up or there a good chance u will screw it up ... Jon

nate0123 February-7th-2003 09:13 PM

What a killjoy.

There's no such thing as a "don't push it too hard" break-in period. Some dealers recommend not maintaining constant speeds for long periods of time.

itzkcatz February-8th-2003 12:53 PM

Ur a moron!

mesoh February-8th-2003 02:13 PM

agreed, you are a fool, here's hoping your tranny drops!

nate0123 February-8th-2003 02:16 PM

wow, you guys are sweet.

I drove my last car to 110,000 miles with no tranny problems. It had other problems, but then again, it was a Ford.

nate0123 February-8th-2003 02:24 PM

Honestly I don't think Phatom cares what any of us has to say about this. And I don't think this is the appropriate place to discuss it. If you want, open up a new thread about the urban legend of break-in periods or do a search and find out how much it has been discussed already.

I'd personally like to apologize to Phatom for indulging katz as much as I have. I really did not want to adulterate a thread as exciting as one about a new MSP. I love the new MSP. I'm sure Phatom will too.

Hong Kong Fever February-8th-2003 03:14 PM

Alright time to resolve this, both of you are right.

itzcatz, your right cuz you shouldn't beat the car to death, and should give it a proper break in before goin all out with it. However, nate0123 is also correct, as you should vary your speeds when breaking in your car; you should try not to keep the same speed. Vary as much as you can, for example, on the highway, drop down to 90km, then go up to 110 km, or something like that. So you are both right, just be happy that he got his MSP and dont flame each other about this no more!

phatom February-9th-2003 03:32 PM

I got that from Northhill btw....

just checked that out on Friday night, haven't got chance to take a test drive yet. but the car is a beauty, I LOVE IT!!!

the only thing is the car has 37 miles on it, I am soooo pissed:mad:  !!!

hey, pr5owner, I know that you worked in Kramer right? they told me that they have to drive to Kramer to do an alignment do a inspection test drive. They must have drove the hell out of it, I just want to make sure they are not beaten my car up.... which I think that would....

how much km would the inspection usually put on??

thanks bunch.

it's practically a 37 km round trip from northill to kramer. 25 km or so anyway.

90210brandon February-9th-2003 05:21 PM

Hey phatom, I just recently moved from there and got my 2002 P5 from NorthHill. I believe mine didn't go in for any inspections that I know of. Mine had 8 KM's when I picked mine up and drove it of the lot there and the service guy just went to go put a tank of gas in so it probably had 6 KM's on it at the time. Talk to Donny or Riaz and find out WHY there is so many K's on it already. Don't take any bullshit either, you paid for something brand new, not used. Good luck. L8R

:(

Hong Kong Fever February-9th-2003 05:25 PM

Me too, I got mine from North Hill and I picked up my pro with less than 10 km on it.

pr5owner February-9th-2003 05:48 PM

yeah usually mech will give your car a spirited drive, but they won't redline it or do burnouts or anything of the sort (or at least i haven't seen it happen)

my car only came with 3kms on it, and that was from the test track in jpn.

DaleK February-10th-2003 02:01 PM

Mine had 23 km. They told me (and gave me an invoice for I believe) that indicated a test drive of some sort. Actually I think that I saw my car when it came off the truck and then again after.

Definitely talk to one of the guys (Bobby Thulio is great, or Riaz) if you are concerned.

Dale.

*edit* have fun with your new car!!!

phatom February-11th-2003 02:02 PM

thanks for advices guys. I will talk to them to find out why there are so many Km.

I don't think going from Northhill Mazda to Kramer Mazda for a round trip would take 25km?? u think?

90210brandon February-11th-2003 02:04 PM

Well it is not likely they can do anything about it really but ask for them to toss in a couple of free oil changes with filters! (If they fucked up)

nate0123 February-11th-2003 02:46 PM

My car had 41 miles on it when I took delivery. Kinda took me by surprise when I saw it, because I never actually testdrove the one I bought. I testdrove a different one on the lot.

I didn't do anything about it, but maybe I should have? Kinda hard to prove now, with over 10k miles on it. :dunno:

Maxx Mazda February-13th-2003 11:17 AM

I myself work at a dealership, [shamelessplug] (Shaganappi Chev Olds, home of the Payment Free 2003 Event) [/shamelessplug]

And we never see anything with that many Km's on it... It sounds to me like someone took your car out for a rip. There's NO reason for it to have that many Km's on it. 37 Km is about 20 minutes of driving in Calgary traffic, :eek so I'd say that someone (mechanic, salesman, whatever) wanted to check it out, and took it for a rip.

Raise hell man, and make them throw in locking lug nuts, a trunk cargo mat, and maybe a bug deflector or something...

itzkcatz February-13th-2003 01:04 PM

Yeah really. I have a feeling some salesman took it for a spin. Or mazda use to reward there salesman of the month by letting him take a new car home . I know my dad use to beat up some turbo 2 RX7's when he was there lol ...Jon

Hong Kong Fever February-13th-2003 07:05 PM

 I saw the MSP at North Hill on the way up from Downtown...I guess that one would be yours....its soooo nice! :bt:
