CPC Final Details

Ok, Justin and I are currently on the phone, and we're duscussing the club. We've decided that if you're in, the next meet will be our first "official" one.

The club dues we're thinking will be $10 for ever. That'll cover three decals, and a membership card of some sort. It's probably going to be less, but it may be a little more as well. We're not in it to make any money, but the fee will cover your costs.

Please reply if you're interested. This is pretty much the "official" club, so if you'd like to join, this is your chance. Our first meet will be Sunday, February 2nd, at 1:00pm at McMahon. Please attend if you intend to join the club.

Hong Kong Fever January-10th-2003 12:17 AM

I'll be calling the decal maker tomorrow reguarding prices, but Im pretty sure we will end up in the $10 range, give or take a few. We were content with the sizes on the phone, so we came up with design #2 and #3 for our cars. For design #2, we will be using the lettering and symbol only, and I believe the assigned spot is on the rear windshield on top. The colours will be a Red logo and White lettering. The same goes for #3, cept that they will be on the rear side windows. Sizes will be 7x3 (something like that) for #2 and 3x3 for #3. Hopefully we can all agree on colours etc. We were looking in the best interest of the whole group, colour of the cars, and how well it would stand out.

I believe we should make our meets once a month, much like EPC, cept that in the summer I think we should try to meet more often. Just a thought.

The Board

Ok,

I've had time to read this thread, get concerned, sleep on it then do it all over again.

So here is my .02$

We are in desperate need of some structure. I have outlined below what I think is needed and what the roles would be (feel free to offer different opinions this is just my rant). Also, Nick mentioned a $10 fee forever, I may have misread that, but to me that means $10 once and never again. That’s a nice concept however, in reality I think a yearly fee would create a much more sustainable organization. If we had a large enough user base the organization (CPC) would be able to help share the cost of events etc, if needed.

Roles:
  • President - Provide a general overseeing of the club as well as direction and guidance.
  • Treasurer - in charge of collection monies and keeping them safe, investing etc
  • Membership Chairperson - in charge of finding new members informing current members of what’s going on
  • Webmaster - does the website, pretty self explanatory

These are just some basic things that I think would be needed off the start. Depending how much time and people are interested I'm sure there are other positions, nominations, or possibly (if nobody wants to do anything) a lot of doubling up on responsibilities.

Brian

good ideas and it's all stuff we're going to have to discuss in february i guess.

Hong Kong Fever January-10th-2003 03:59 PM

yeah we are going to have to touch up on that on the February meet...I hope everyone is down with the decals as Nick and I have contacted the decal maker and we should hopefully have a few next week to put on our cars as examples. At the Feb meet, if you bring the $$$ you get the decals, as I will be sure to bring them along.

OFFICIAL PRICE OF DECALS (Red symbol, white lettering)
3x3 side windows - $2
7x3 rear window - $4.75
Total for all three - $8.75

If everyone is too cautious to get decals on their cars, I think it would be ok to get the side windows only, and a few of us can have the rear one if we decide to buy it...Im sure Nick and myself will be opting for the whole set. It would only take them a day to run them off and if we get an OK by tonight, then Ill give them a call and maybe get them Saturday or Sunday or whenever.

BTW, where did you get that img of a black P5 in your signature??? Ive been trying to find it but I cant find one that I can use!

thanks a bunch alco!

BTW I nominate Snype for webmaster :D

Hong Kong Fever January-10th-2003 07:18 PM

So exactly who is in for decals? There doesnt seem to be too much interest, so Im not sure if I will get the guy to run that many off anymore...

Orange January-10th-2003 07:29 PM

I'm in for 2 decals (3x3) for the rear side windows ... should fit nicely on top of my toprotege.com ones. :D

Does this mean membership fee still stays at $10 with no decals? Or less than $10 with no decals? Or $10 with decals & it's up to the individual if they use them or not?

We should also have Events Coordinator, someone familiar with the auto / import scene & organize members for any significant events. (Are there big import shows etc. in Calgary?)

Again, not sure about the Feb 2/3 weekend yet. Maybe I'll have to get the decals some other time.

Thanks guys for pulling all these together!

PS: To whoever the membership coordinator is - we need more girls in the club!!!

Hong Kong Fever January-10th-2003 09:35 PM

I think right now the membership fee is free, but we are encouraging others to buy decals for our cars to get the word out. Im not sure about the membership cards and the fee for them, so basically the fee Nick and I set were for decals. I think...

Maxx Mazda January-11th-2003 12:56 AM

In talking with Em, we decided that perhaps just a small yearly fee was best, then the decals were optional at an extra cost. The yearly fee would cover your membership card, (that's still in the works) as well as anything else that needed to be taken care of. Without stickers I'm still thinking $10 year is a good price. We'll all have to discuss that at the February meet though. It's just like a bonus. Buy the membership, and if you'd like them, the decals are available at an extra price.

Hong Kong Fever January-11th-2003 10:39 AM

Ok since the decals are optional, Ill only put in an order of 12 3x3's so six sets will be available for now, and only 3 of the rear windshield banners.
