Worn front stabilizer bushings

Anyone had problems with worn bushings on the front stabilizer bar?
My 2002 P5 is making some clicking/clunking noises when I turn the wheel left or right, whether the car is moving or not. From what others have told me, its not the CV joints as the boots are still intact and would only make the noise when the car is moving.

Took it to a mechanic and suggested it might be the bushings. Any harm in driving with them for an extended period? Mazda engineers were smart enough to put them on TOP of the front cross member which makes it quite a job to get to...dealer was quoting like $300+ dollars for the job! Good way to make money...

Try pulling/tugging on the endlinks.

If they are bad and the struts are due - swap them both.

Struts usually are due at 60-70K miles or if exhibiting signs of failure (oil on the wheel, uneven tire wear (cupping) and/or jouncy ride).
