i guess shocks? your stock ones will proabbly not last long and besides upgraded shocks will complete the spring setup. if you don't care abou the shocks then i say work on the sway bars.

At the risk of appearing to be a smart ass, I have to say it agian.

If anyone is planning on swapping springs, do the struts at the same time. It's the same amount of work, you can do it once or do it twice. But I can promise the second time you'll which you'd done it all at once.

yeah but this way you know what you are doing if someone askes you whats all involved in it.

Hmm, if you were starting from scratch, I'd recommend the stabilizer bars from the MP3 or upcoming MazdaSpeed 3 first. The reduced body roll would be much more noticable to most drivers, and give more confidence cornering than srings or struts. After the bars, I'd look at struts next, and springs only if you want to get the most out of the suspension. Be careful lowering the front of the 3rd gen if you're interested in handling, and not looks. The front doesn't have a lot of compression travel, so lowering an inch or more can actually hurt the ride and handling.

will most aftermarket struts have the tab in the same location for the stabilizer bars? I've thought of getting the stabilizer bars first before springs and struts but then was afraid when i do upgrade the struts, the bar won't fit properly.

Apparently, there is a difference between the P5 and the sedans in regard to the location of the end link mounting tab, but all you would need is the end links from the same car as the struts and you would be fine.
