thinking of dropping pro sedan

what is my best option? should i get springs that are the same sized drop or should i get the ones that lower more in the back? and when i do lower my car what else "Should" i do for a better ride?

depends on what you want

if you just want to drop it between an inch and 1.5 inches, just get lowering springs. If your looking to go lower than that, skunk2 and Ground control make adjustable height coilovers, but you will want to replace your struts with these. If you really want performance, lowered style, and adjustability i would get the tien or JIC-magic real coilover kits. also to make your suspension better, look for a strut tower bar and thicker sway bars. its up to you, i have the ground controls and the handling isn't much better than stock and the ride sucks so i'm getting rid of them soon and getting real coilovers and i lost almost $700 in the process.

well i plan on just getting springs because i think 1.5 drop would be fine because i wouldnt want my tire rubbin against anything. should i get anything else if i drop it 1.5"?

also, what measurement is everyone happy with? i want the fender to just barely meet where the tire would be...

personally, i'm very happy with my h&r's, using the stock struts still. you've got the same car as i do, so here's a couple pictures of what it looks like with springs that offer a mild drop.

ive got 2 things to ask... i might have the answer to my own question but why does the back have less gap? is it because u have shit in ur trunk?

and how much did u lower?... because i want it a lil more lower than what i see.

thanks for the input!

i think it's cuz you need more room in the front to turn your wheels.

dafoo21 October-6th-2002 11:58 PM

ahh yea, but i want to have the same gap measure in the front and back, would a half inch gap be ok in the front?

protetype October-7th-2002 12:42 AM

it's lower in the back, or looks lower anyway, because if you look at the protege... the wheel wells are actually shaped differently.

hey mike....... question for you. how long have you had your springs on with the stock struts? cuz' everyone is saying the stock ones will wear in like a year with lowering springs. what are your plans when or if your struts go?

Almost all Jap cars have larger wheelwells in the front than in the back due to very resrictive laws in Japan that govern wheelwell size.

i've had these on for a while now. almost a year, because i remember driving in snow with these things on. stock struts are fine still. no rough ride at all, never bottom out, unless i have 4 or 5 people in the car and hit a bump. but, other than that, i'm still riding good.

I have skunk2s' and my rear looks lower, even though it is level if you use the skirts to measure. my car rides stiff, but that is what i wanted. i just have to be slammed, that's it:)
