Squeaking wheel sound

After driving my P5 tonight I noticed that there was a squeaking noise like the sound that is emitted when the brake pads worn out.
The sound however did not come when the brake was depressed hence, I don't think it was due to worn out break pads, the rotor seems fine too.
The squeaking sound comes at speed. Did anyone have this problem before? Or can offer any advice or guidance?
Thanks!

did u park ur can outside?
cause my car sqeaks every morning when it's cold, it's just the wheel bearings when they are cold i think, above 30km/h it goes away.

All disk brakes inherently drag a little, always, and they will sometimes have just the right wear pattern that the pads will start squealing when the brakes are NOT being applied. Here's what to try, in order:

1) Try braking hard from 60-70 mph to a stop at least 7-8 times in a row. Get the brakes nice and stinking hot. Then drive the car around until the brakes cool off. Getting the brakes hot enough will sometimes cause the wear pattern to change and make the squeak go away.
2) Apply some anti-squeal compound to the back of the pads.
3) Get the rotors turned. (BTW the newer Mazda service manuals recommend only using an on-the-car lathe for this procedure.)
4) Replace the pad hardware.
5) Try a different brand of brake pad.

Good luck! :D
