springs effect on the car
 

Hello everyone, this is my first post in this forum but i've been reading posts for a while and i'm amazed with all the info I found out here!

I own a 2001 LX 2.0 sedan, and i recently bought 17" wheels + tires, and i find the car looks too high...
I want to lower for looks, and i don't want it too low bc I want an all year round setup (I live in Montreal), so I don't want to compromise comfort or winter driving as much as possible... After all the research I think Eibach pro-kit would be the best for me... but:

1- Do I need a camber kit with those springs, and will the tires still wear out faster?
2- The wheels I got have a +40 offset, will there be rubbing? (with / without camber kit; camber kit impossible bc of offset?)
3- Will the ride still be comfy compared to stock?
4- Do I need to buy anything other than the springs?
5- Anybody has pro-kit on LX and can post a pic??

4. Yes, do the struts at the same time. I recomend the Tokico Blues. The stockies are probably worn anyway - this will accelerate the wear.

Thanks for the reply! now a little more detailed questions:

1- Will I have the rear passenger noise issue with those springs and have to use washers to eleminate the gap?
2- do I have to cut out part of the bump stops when installing? How much? (this is pretty confusing from reading other threads)

1. Someone else should answer this.
2. I would think cutting the bumpstops would not be adviseable. (I understand the logic- you're losing suspension travel by lowering, get a little back by cutting the bumpstops.) Cutting would cause the suspension to travel farther than it's designed to.

The only reason i had the clankity clank was that i didn't torque the driver side strut top nut enough. Once re-torqued (tightened while still installed BTW :)) , all quiet. The endlinks clanked on the front - because they were half off- from trying to remove and gave up in disgust.

When properly done to the book procedures - no problem.

If there is any noise from the rear, then you didn't istall them correctly.
I've got the Eibachs on stock struts (don't cut the bumpstops! They will not be an issue) for almost two years now.

Go With Eibach!!!!
