Springs and Comfort?
 

Well im in the process of choosing springs...and living in nyc has me concerned about ride quality... Post ur experiences thanks
Which are better?
Eibach? Tein? H&R? ION Springs? Progress? etc.,

As I am from the Ottawa valley in Ontario Canada ,We have similar roads to you ,I went with the MP3 springs and stock struts . I really like the combination of this set up .
I had a 1st gen with a 1.5 inch drop and found this a little rough with 4 people in the car but it handled great .

I agree with Macklum, thanks to his input, I too bought a set of MSP springs for my ride. I think the subtle drop and slightly stiffer spring rate (27%) is perect for some who has to drive on not so perefect roads and still want something drivable for the winter.

How are peoples feelings on the Eibach Prokit?

I've seen it on lots of P5's. It looks pretty good but personally for me, I don't think it's all that practical. I want to be able to not have to worry about getting stuck in snow, hitting speed bumps, bottoming out or rubbing if I shove four passengers in or loading all my gear in the back. A mild drop of an inch of so is fine with me.

so what is the increase in spring rate from the DX stock springs to MP3 springs ?

The H-tech seem to be: 162 lb/in front, 129 lb/in rear with drops of 1.3 inch front, 0.3 inch rear for the Protege (1.2 inch front, 1.1 inch rear for the P5), MSRP $260.00.

For comparison purposes, the S-tech is 179 lb/inch front, 145 lb/in rear for both Pro and P5, with drops of 2" front, 1.4" rear (Pro) and 1.8" front, 1.5" rear (P5). Those are $240.00 MSRP.

So it would appear that the H-tech is geared more toward ride comfort, while the S-tech is more of a sport spring. However, judging by the spring rates and people's experiences, even the S-tech is not a very sporty spring. People who have switched from MSP springs to S-tech have claimed that it makes their ride softer (a decrease in spring rate).

I have no experience with either.
