Rotors

I need to change the front rotors on my P5. A while ago I saw a group buy on Brembos for Proteges. Does anyone know where I can get these Rotors for my P5.

Roddimus Prime January-20th-2005 02:28 PM

i was the one selling them. I think I'm having to switch suppliers though as my current one has not responded to m emails in the past 3 weeks.

You could probably order some off ebay but they'll be a little more than I was charging.

dgilson January-20th-2005 07:19 PM

ebay, i just bought 4 brembo rotors for about 275, plated and shipped they are not bigger than stock but still better than stock and they look pretty good also, I am to cheap to buy a big brake kit.

Roddimus Prime January-20th-2005 07:34 PM

you just paid $275 shipped for those rotors?? I was selling them for $200 shipped....same product..

maybe in the future you'd save some money by browsing our vendor section first!

dgilson January-20th-2005 07:44 PM

with the cadium plating??

Roddimus Prime January-20th-2005 09:06 PM

yes sir. Cadium plating is a fansy way of saying Zinc.

dgilson January-20th-2005 09:54 PM

well i will remember that next time i need somthing, thanks

fluke22 January-21st-2005 12:05 AM

Just out of curiosity, how long does that shiny zinc plating last? I'm guessing the pads would remove most of it within a few thousand miles, right? I bought some rotors from Rod awhile back, but they're just sitting in my garage until I find some 99-00 es calipers. ...just wondering. :tooth:

Roddimus Prime January-21st-2005 08:58 AM

the pad contact area rubs off almost immediatly and that WILL rust. The rest of the rotor will not however. As soon as you stop again the rust will be gone. My rotors look awesome during the day and orange in the morning. After you get out of the driveway though they'll be clean again.

Redfyre January-21st-2005 11:53 AM

If you do get the Brembo rotors, get it with the cad plating. The rusting isn't bad (like the oem rotors) and is pretty light, but the cad plating would diffinately look better.

mokeOne January-21st-2005 05:41 PM

check out this guys auction on ebay. it's for front and rear, which i plan on getting soon as i get paid. but he also has auctions for just front, and just rear. hope that helps.

TeamPlayers January-22nd-2005 01:10 AM

Thanks....I would rather support the home team but I will jump on this guy

hughes412 January-26th-2005 03:06 PM

Hey Matty, if you can't get them do you know of someone thats trust worthy that I can go through? I wont them before we have our next meet in Dallas.

Roddimus Prime January-26th-2005 03:25 PM

$185+32 shjipping seems awefully high to me but maybe it's not that bad.

My (former) supplier is SPORTBRAKES....they are also powersellers on ebay. I know they are good guys but for some reason have not responded to any emails I've sent to them in the past month and a half. They will probably sell them off ebay for $200shipped since they'll avoid the fee's.

If you go to SPORTBRAKES and tell them you spoke with me (Matty Mullis from Mullis Brothers Racing) and I sent you he may give you my dealer/bulk pricing....I've sold like 50 sets for them!

hughes412 January-26th-2005 03:56 PM

Cool I'll give it a try.

I have the LX, 4 lug with rear drums. Will it fit?

Roddimus Prime January-26th-2005 04:32 PM

nope....well....yes, but you'll need new wheels in the front!

FC3s Boy January-26th-2005 05:23 PM

^^ lol, no it won't fit

Roddimus Prime January-27th-2005 07:52 AM

you dont think it'll fit the front hubs? oh, duh, he'd need new axles probably with the hubs.

hughes412 January-27th-2005 11:58 AM

Hey Matty, I looked for your guy on Ebay and couldn't find him. I did a Google and no luck there. Do you have a web address?

FC3s Boy, I guess you don't have any or you would have said so by now!

hughes412 March-7th-2005 08:44 AM

Hey Matty I know you have a lot on your to do list right now but did you ever get with your guys for the drilled and sloted rotors. I'm still looking for the Brembro ones.

pro5 March-7th-2005 01:55 PM

I just checked with SportBrakes and they will sell Brembo rotors for the P5, front and rear with shipping for $190. Great deal! Cross-drilled, Slotted or combo, does not matter.

Roddimus Prime March-7th-2005 02:17 PM

do what Pro5 said...it's the same guy who for some reason has ignored all of my mails and calls...I guess when you sell 30-40 sets of brakes you shouldn't expect to get a response!
