rear seat belt assy.
 

I just installed my eibach springs. I'm trying to back back all the rear panels,and the rear seat belt assembly back on. But my problem is that the seat belt assy. will not allow me to pull it back to the original mounting bracket. there's some kind of internal locking device. can anyone help??

I had the exact same problem after my spring install...I could not find a single easy solution for it, but try to figure out exactly how the assymbly mounts in the back of the car and hold it in the air in that position...Slowly pull the belt retractor up from where the belt mounts into bottom of the seat, or hold the assembly in one hand and slowly pull down on the belt itself...Sorry it is really difficult to explain what I mean...

when I unbolted the assembly I was sitting on the spare tire and just through them over the rear seat back to get them out of the way...They took up all but about 2 feet of the slack...I could not figure out how to unlock them but eventually they gave in...Just try holding the assembly like I said and pull the belt straight down by hand...If that doesn't work try pulling the belt straight out horizontally from the assembly...I forget which one worked, and neither worked on the first try but after about 15 minutes I got one to release...and then the other only took about 1 minute...You willl eventually get it...

hi there, i had the same problem, i ended up opening up the belt and i found a cool little device that will keep the seatbelt locked if it is not in it's original position( vertical), i guess that's so if your cars flips over or whatever you will stay in your seat. a pretty neat little device but very annoying if you don't know it's there

Why did you guys undo the seatbelt assembly??? You could have gotten to the center bolt on the strut with a box wrench !! I recently did my springs and didnt have to touch the seatbelt mounts....
