I just bought the same rear sway bar from protege5 online, did you buy the adjustable end links seperate? What does that do for you? I was under the impression that you don't need them for the 19mm one.

How are the endlinks adjustable?

The adjustable end links I did buy seperate. You don't need them unless your car is lowered. If it is lowered, you may get clearance problems with the lateral links using the stock end links.

You can adjust the length of the end links. The ends are threaded allowing you to screw them in or out to adjust the length. The length does not affect the performance of the 19 mm bar at all.

Should be getting mine from Mitch sometime this week. I'm not looking forward to fighting the endlink nuts, but have soaked them with PB Blaster almost daily. :rolleyes: Really shitty design, just like my Acura had.

Anyway, I now realize this is a hollow bar. Did it come with caps for the open ends? If not, I'm not hip on that at all. I'll have to find something lying around in the garage to cap the ends. Other than that, looks great!

Yes it will...If you shorten the endlinks, they will have less of a torque arm on the bar itself, making it more difficult to bend.

From what I remember this would be similar to the square mounts you can get from AWR. there are two holes for each side, in which you have two positions to mount the bar's ends. The lower one to keep it at a softer settin. The upper holes, which give a smaller torque arm, make it slightly stiffer...

yah from wat i heard from mitch, you dont need it even if your
car is lowered (shouldnt matter anyway as the arms will travel
the same area up or down during compression/decompression
of the struts).

the adjustable endlinks let you make finer adjustments in the
stiffness and are more robust than factory enabling you to use
the 21.5mm bars as well.

I misread your post in another swaybar related thread Jesse,

I thought you meant the endlinks themselves...

Anyway are swaybars progressive, meaning do they become stiffer the more they are bended? If so wouldn't mounting the bar in which it is slighty torsioned more make it harder to torsion further? Kind of hard to explain what I mean.

Thanks for verification, I'm not using the endlinks with my 19mm.

DUDE!! I hate to tell you this, but your sway bar is on UPSIDE-DOWN!! You need to change it ASAP!! The part going under the trailing arm goes OVER the trailing arm. I joined this forum to let you know, before something bad happens.
Also, I noticed that you have the bar set on the soft setting. The other mounting point, closer to center will give more stiffness.

I believe what he is saying, is that the endlink should be attached on the inside of bar and not on the outside.

I don't know if it makes a big difference, but the stock endlinks are mounted on the inside of the bar.

Ok now I just reread it and I semi see what he was getting at too. He was referring to the arm mounted along the wheel base, but I don't see how mounting the bar would bring the ends above it and not cause clearence problems...

That would be more of a difference in the AWR bars design I would think...The ends protrude towards the back of the car more than the stock bars it appears, therefore the endlinks mount after the Twin links rather than between them...

I had the same bar and did the same thing. Trust me, it is not mounted properly. Please, please look into this. When mine was installed this way, I broke the center mounting clip first, then the end link mounting tab broke clean off. Give Tony a call @ www.awrracing.com. He was the one who sold me the bar, and let me know it was installed incorrectly. He is very helpful. Please call him. Could'nt hurt just to call, right?
To be honest, I'm, surprised nothing has broken yet.
