to be or not to be
I have just been thinking and thinking about what I wanna get. Springs? Coilovers? I keep on tossting back and forth. I wanan get springs for the 1.8 eibach drop and then later on i needa get struts correct? Then on the other hand I want coilovers so I can SLAM it at car shows. Am I correct when I say that with coilovers all I need are those and adjustable struts as well. And at last possible a camber kit? Someone help me choose!

eibachs
|
:D I know but I need other opinions and reasons why eibachs are better.
|
because they lower the car a good level and with 5 people in the car and a full trunk (on a p5) they handle as well as if the car is empty and no rubbing
|
sounds good to me. Anyone here to defend coilovers?
|
Dont buy cheapo coilovers unless you do not care about performance.

I have JIC coilovers, and they made my car corner so much better...it's like my car is on rails. The ride is nice still too.
Coilover suspension includes the strut and spring...it's all one piece. ...Here's a LINK to JIC's website. Rishie(ARD MP5) has the JIC FLTA2 in stock, IMO the very best suspension set-up for a Protege. |

$1880 from JIC... dealers can probably sell them for $1500 - $1700.

Holy FN shit! Thats way too much for my budget man. Isnt it cheaper to get GC coilovers which are reasonable and then get the tokiko struts? Its basically the same thing.,
|
Rofl.. not the same thing. As I said in my first post.. dont get cheapo coilovers (GC) if you care about performance. Even tho GC uses Eibach springs, they are not really good coilovers. Its a cheap alternative mostly for show purposes.
|
Well I dont care about performance for my car and it is strictly show so I guess the GC would be good. Are there any other good coilovers? And I dont need adjustable struts correct? Regular struts are ok?

I heard alot of people use the skunk2 coilovers.
Personally I got H&R sport springs cause I liked how they lowered the car. I think they look a bit lower than Eibachs. But then again, I think the TEIN springs might be slightly lower than both these. And the Apex springs are lower AND cheaper too. The choice is out there, you just have to decide on what is best for you. |
man decisions decsicions. With coilovers it would cost me a lto more but I could slam it all the way down to 3 inches on car shows but still have the 1.8 eibach look. Thats the good thing about it.
