No Lowering With Offset?
My Rims have a 40mm offset (17x7) and I want to lower my car. The Eibach kit will cause rubbing, but will the Mazdaspeed kit? How much will it lower my car?
It looks like a 4x4 IMO, and I'm looking to drop it somehow with the rims that I have. What can I do? |
What size tire do you have? I have 2003 pro with 17 inch wheels and 205/40/17 and a 40mm offset and have eibach prokit on with no rubbing. If you have a 45 series then they will rub with pro kit. The Mazdaspeed kit lowers 3/4 inch.

Like I said, I have 17" by 7" rims, with 40mm offset. You don't rub at all? I'd like to go with the Eibachs, but if I'm going to rub I may not be able to.
Got any pics of your car? |
I have never rubbed with pro kit. Here is a link to pics of my car.

Ok, I remember your car now. Thanks!

You could get some 5mm spacers to push the wheels out some.
|
dont get spacers, 40mm is outward too much anyway on the rear.
the protege looks best with 40mm up front and 50mm on the rear with a 1.5in drop. but since we cant afford to get such wheel offsets on the cheap wheels we can buy so we just use 48-45mm offset usually. 40mm will probably fit but it will be uncomfortingly out on the rear. |
