MP3 Sway Bars
 

I have searched this forum, but I have found different answers.

What do I need to run the MP3 sway bars on my 02 ES sedan? Do the mounting points need to be modified in anyway? Is it a straight "plug-n-play" application? Somewhere I read that the front bolts right in, but the rear needed to worked with. If this is true, what does the rear need?

I have the rear Mp3 sway bar on my 2001 LX 2.0 . I used the spacers from AWRracing (www.awrracing.com). This allowed me to use the factory endlinks and bushings . The bushing hole has to be opened up to allow the 19mm bar to fit . Once that is done you use the stock brackets . It is also reccommended that the tabs on the stut be reinforced .
As for the front you have to drop the subframe to change the swaybar .

Many of the suspension parts that were included on the Protege MP3 cannot be easily installed on the non-MP3 model. When designing the suspension for the MP3, it was decided that the endlink mounting flange on the side of the shock absorber would need to be reinforced to accommodate a larger diameter swaybar. The Tokico shock used on the MP3 features this reinforced endlink mounting flange. For this reason, the use of the MP3 swaybars on other Protege models is not recommended, as damage to the stock shocks is possible. Further, to accommodate the use of larger diameter sway bars, the rear subframe was modified to allow additional clearance for the larger swaybar bushing and mounting bracket.
