It says it on the box also. Originally posted by Installshield That MSP appears to be "raised" from stock not dropped at all. This is a the Eibach Pro-kit for the P5. It says 1.4" drop in front, and 1.2" drop in rear. Is this wrong? It would make more sense to be this way because "stock" the front wheel gap is higher than the back. Kincaid stated that the eibachs made his car level. If the back is lowered more than the front with these springs like you say, the car will look like it is squating even more than stock. it would not be level at all.... |

It's 1.4 F, 1.2 R for the Protege 5. The sedans sit up higher in the back than the 5-doors, so the sedan springs drop the back more. |

I stand corrected...
I didn't realize the wheel gap was different for the P5 or the sedan... Sorry about that... |
I came in on this late. lol
Sedan: 1.4 Front 1.8 Rear Pro5: 1.4 Front 1.2 Rear This is because the hatch on the 5 is, of course, heavier than the absense of such on the sedan. |
When I measured the gap between the front and the rear on the pro sedan the front has 2 1/4" and the rear is 1 3/4 inches gap. How can 1.8 drop in the rear make it even?

How can 1.8 drop in the rear make it even? 1.) you have a protege 5 or at least not a 3rd gen sedan 2.) you need to take the freakin bodies out of your trunk before you measure :bonk: |
another thing to keep in mind: the front wheel well has to be taller to allow the front wheels to turn while cornering. the rear only has to allow vertical travel so the fender cutout can be lower
|
I have a 2002 Protege ES with one sub and amp in the trunk. No bodies are in this one. And I know about the front wheel well thing. Just I can not see how the drop with the eibach kit evens it out for the sedan...

Compare my signature pic to Kincaid's. My car has stock suspension, and the rear looks jacked up by comparison. The whole thing seems tilted slightly from horizontal. The eibachs compensate for that and create a more horizontal look overall.
Edit: I have 2 10's in a double box in the trunk, so the rear of my car is marginally lower than stock. |
Ok, thanks... Just wanted to find out before I bought some for my car.
