Looking for springs

Hello all-

Just purchased an 03 Protege ES 2 weeks ago. The first thing I'd like to get for it is a set of lowering springs. For the past 2 years I owned a Mazda 3 hatch, so I'm unfamiliar with the Protege until now.

Can anyone share some Springs experience with me in regards to what brands you like/dislike? And also a good place to purchse from? The ones that I'm looking at now are Racing Beat springs that give a .75" drop. Overall, I don't think I would want it any lower than 1.25"...

Thanks alot,

Tony

If you don't want more than 1.25" the Racing Beats are probably best suited for you. They are very good springs.
Most other brands will lower you to 1.5-2.0 inches. In fact all the major brands that I can think of (Eibach, H&R, Tein, Progress &tc) are 1.5 or lower.

Thanks for the quick replies! It looks like the H&R's with a 1.3" drop would be the nicest fit for me. Does anyone know of a good place to purchse from? The lowest price I can find is $195. Thanks again.

Oh, H&R only 1.3? I'll have to remember that...

Ditto. Mine has the sportlines and I love the look! The stock fender gap (esp. in the front) is like "on a lift kit!" hehehe and i think that every time i see a stock pro. Not sure what you meant by "meant to handle stock struts/'shocks'"?

Can anyone post pics of their protege's with Eibach's? I'd like to see the end result. Thanks!

Finally. Here's my pro with before and after lowering pics (and also a close-up of the front wheel fender gap):
