HP'S or Illumina struts????

Hey all its me again!! I am waiting for TOKICO to release there struts.. the rep said at the end of july or early august..cant wait anymore!! i need them bad!!!

Anywayz....As most of you know all the problems i've had with lowering my car.. well the struts have finally had it.
I was talking to the Tokico rep about the HP's and the adjustable struts...I'm not quite sure which ones to get..the adjustables will be about $600 and the HP's between $300 and $400.. they arent sure on the price yet...i asked which struts would last longer and he said that many customers said that the HP's lasted longer.. my only concern is if i get the HPs then i cant control the ride comfort and with the adjustables i can...IS IT REALLY WORTH IT??

** Also.. i want to install the struts myself..is it hard?? what tools would i need??** thanks guys

You won't see that much difference in between each setting. You either have to crank it to its extremeties to notice a diff in all 4 corners. IMO, I'd just save another 600 and get the JIC coilovers from Automotive R&D and those will be far superior than the struts you're planning on getting. Plus you won't need a spring compressor as part of the install as the springs already come on the coilovers. The are also far more adjustable including ride height w/o the ride comfort suffering. The JIC has independent ride height and compression/preload adjustments. Labor should be around 2-300.

With all the problems i've had i already spent $1000... im NOT buying anymore springs!!!! I already have the ground control coilovers. I guess i'll just buy the adjustables just to be safe. Thanks you for you comments funky

I didn't realize you got the GC coilovers already. Oops. I say you sell your GC's and buy the JIC...LOL. The JIC actually replaces the whole strut. You can get the Mazdaspeed Adjustable struts from mazdamotorsports. Anyways..here's a pic of the JIC

Since Mazda took over Mazdaspeed they have stopped exporting the Japan line here. However I do believe I can get them from Japan from our purchaser there. I will find out if you guys are interested.

Later, Rishie

I'm sick of waiting too. It's been a couple years now. lol. Two SEMA shows have passed and I inquired at both.

Hey ARD... if you can get these mazdaspeed struts.. will they last long on a protege that is lowered past 2 inches?? I jsut had to order my stock front struts because i cant stand the noise any longer.. hopefully they will last at least 2 months until tokico comes out... they keep pushing back the date on me :(

please let me know.. also i sent you a PM about a week or 2 ago about the autoexe front lip.. you ever get that?? I am interested in that too.. i dont want to do the conversion with out.. if not do you know where i can get the replica??Thanks again

That's the dumbest thing ever !!!
