Is this how its supposed to be? (56k a no no)

After i got my tokicos and Ground control adjustable coilovers i started hearing a squeeky noise when i make turns..... So this weekend I decided to look around and this is what I found!
This is what i found:

http://img148.echo.cx/img148/9258/wtf25cn.jpg

Apparently this was caused by one of the bolts...
Moreover, i was looking around some more and found that my coilover springs are not secured at all and are freely moving up and down.... Did anyone else experienced anything like this?

What should I do?

usually compressing the spring before tightening the top nut on the struts helps

All of my coilover jobs have turned out like this, with free play in the coil with it jacked. I would say yes it is normal. If you look at the top and the bottom (where it sits on threads) there is no set place for the coil to sit. So again i would say this is correct.

Qwksilvr Did you experience any noises or rattles? Also, did you have any damage like i have (top pics)?

Yeah i have a binding noise, when im going slow or parked. Thats because at the top where the coil meets the top housing/bearing. There isnt a place for the smaller coil to rest and turn with the strut, yeah it clungs a bit. I dont have a rattle though. The only way i could imagine a rattle is if the strut/car is bottemed out before it can rest on the coil itself. On the first few pictures im not even sure what it is im looking at, pull the camera back and describe a little bit on what that connects to. What car is this? Ive never seen damage like that but id love to help anyway i can.

Read the thread just under this one, there are good points too. I dont see any rubbers between your coil and the threads. That would cause a rattle for sure and check your nuts and bolts.
