Holly RUST! AWR rear sway&endlinks

talk about serious rusting on the endlink bolts and joints.
wtf?! it hasn't even snowed yet here in chicago!!!

I ran across the same problem when i put in my coilovers. the front ones came loose with lots of penetrating oil, the rear ones i got pissed at and cut with oxy-aceteline. hope you have better luck.

NegatiZE July-30th-2003 12:27 PM

I have the 21.5mm bar and my "adjustable" endlink blocks are rusted so bad I can't adjust the bar. Some type of anti rust grease when installing the bar would have probably prevented this....god I'm stupid!!

dang AWR!!! arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrr!!!

SedanMan August-1st-2003 04:45 PM

I put alot of grease on every part that didn`t have that gold colour. After 2 summer months, no rust.. hopefully it'll stay that way.(crosses fingers)

sedanman- SMART move! i sprayed wd40, but it washed off. :(

anyone wanna buy my COMPLETELY RUSTED AWR parts?

Well Negatize says his screw are rusted inside the hole so I have NO idea how he could possibly fix that. Although it is strange that they rusted since they were treated with some kind of black coating which made them a HELL to screw in.

Hopefully mine will fare better with the grease cause it gets alot colder up here than in Fl.:D

eggynatey August-8th-2003 11:44 AM

I've been hitting mine with WD-40 about twice a month...hopefully this inhibits the rust.

I'll let you know in a few months :D

kenchan August-8th-2003 12:41 PM

i would highly recommend greasing them, not wd40. it's not enough.

Bruce95fmla August-11th-2003 03:47 PM

why doesn't AWR do something about this,
you guys should email them and complain .

kenchan August-12th-2003 12:35 PM

#1 problem is that the screws an pieces are seized..can't take them off the car now.

So much for adjustable.

I was sure that the black coating on the slider blocks and screws would prevent rust. If it doesn't then why is it even on there?

goodorange August-12th-2003 01:56 PM

I should be getting my sway bar soon. What grease would you suggest or would anti-seize do the trick.

I couldnt fit any kind of grease in there with the screws. I would say, install the bar, and then grease everything up with the regular anti-rust grease. Its black. SHould be okay with that. Hopefully...
